Great old school hot dog and gyro shop. The Polish dogs are my favorite.

It’s like a bucktown institution. After a long day at work, you need this for a snack on your way home.

One of my favorite places to grab some quick and delicious food in Chicago. It seriously never misses— hot dogs are great and the burgers are incredible too. On top of that, the family that runs it is super sweet!

I walk and run by George’s pretty often and was craving a gyro so I decided to stop in. It’s a bit of a whole in the wall but sometimes that’s the best kind of vibe. I decided to get the gyro plate which came with way more food than I expected. It was pretty delicious and came out pretty quickly. I took it to go and it held up well in transit.

I am a long-time customer. I usually pick up my meals, but have had them delivered on occasion. This time, I needed them delivered. I was told I HAD to go through a third-party app. They used to deliver themselves ( the one guy drove a bicycle for years). Sad to say, but I cannot support a business that supports third-party MARKUPS. There is no reason that a $12 meal should cost me $30 to be delivered. I will not patronize again. Sad that a wonderful, family owned business supports this practice vs having a normal delivery guy.

A truly fantastic spot for Chicago street food whether it is hot dogs or burger or more. Both the hot dog and burgers are great. French fries are very nice and crunchy and not like mush. A great spot that I hope is always here for the neighborhood.

A bit underwhelming. Dogs were ok. A bit small.

George’s has been family owned and operated since 1948. It’s a no frills, big portions, downright good hot dogs and Greek fare establishment. They have raised prices but it’s worth it.
Gyro came piping hot, tzatziki, onions, tomatoes, classic. With a mountain of crisp fries and a squeeze bottle of ketchup. I was kindly given a fork with my napkin - I think they knew I would need it.
Fast service and attentive staff. Clean environment. Patio option for the summer. Dog and kid friendly.
If you’re in the neighborhood, check out this place that’s stood the test of time.

Typical Chicago Fast Food place with all the typical offerings like burgers, hot dogs, and gyros. Gyro was well made and the fries were fresh.

Been going here for 15yrs and this family owned business is a neighborhood staple. The owner and I were chatting tonight and she gave gifted us free food just for being loyal customers. Having the quintessential chicago hot dog spot in the neighborhood is critical.

Very good hot dog with all the fixings. The highlight was the French fries, though; top ten I’ve ever had.
