I live close to Geraldine's and pass by every day, so I was hoping this would become a go-to spot. Unfortunately, my experience on November 1st has left me with serious doubts. I ordered a slice of quiche made with poblano to-go. Upon opening it outside, I discovered I'd been given a different slice with ham instead. This was particularly problematic as I don't eat pork for religious reasons. I immediately went back inside. The employee who took my order acknowledged the mistake before I even explained he knew he'd given me the wrong item. He replaced the quiche and offered to reimburse me without my needing to disclose why this was such a serious issue. I considered the matter resolved.
However, no refund came through. A week later, I returned to speak with a manager. She was apologetic, took my card information, and assured me she'd process the refund. She even offered me a scone as an apology. It's now been another week and a half, still no refund. I don't understand what happened here. The staff seemed genuinely sorry and made clear promises to make things right, but those promises weren't kept. For a neighborhood spot where trust matters, this has been disappointing. I just wanted them to do what they said they would do.

It's mid. Not a fan of the long lines though

They have the best baked goods in Chicago! The banana chocolate tahini muffins are out of this world, and the cupcakes are better than any other “cupcake” shop in the city — hands down. I just tried an oatmeal pumpkin cookie sandwich and wow, it was incredible. The baker is seriously top-notch.
Their coffee is also fabulous — I love that they use the perfect milk-to-espresso ratio for their drinks. This place is a true hidden gem that never fails to amaze me!

I love the homemade pastries and the best and freshest in the neighborhood. And the cold brew is the best cold brew ever in my life. You will be addicted to this lovely cafe. Make sure you try the sister restaurant “Jerry’s” as well.

Came here for breakfast. They offer sandwiches and other meals besides their pastries and coffee drinks. Everything was delicious especially the cheddar chive scone and the raspberry scone. Would recommend!

I live in the area and have been in many times over the years. The pastries here are very good, as well as the breakfast sandwiches. Unfortunately, I have never had a good coffee from Geraldines. Their coffees are wildly inconsistent, and I have gotten different answers from different baristas on the amount of milk to espresso. It seems that their iced lattes only get a single oz of espresso regardless of size, and they essentially taste like coffee milk. I finally wrote a review today because I asked for a drink with no ice (didn't want it to melt before I got home) and the baristas chose to fill it completely to the top with milk. So my 12oz latte ended up being 11oz of milk. Personally, I feel a cafe can have amazing food, but if you can't have an equally good coffee with it there's no point. This cafe definitely needs some updated training for their baristas.

Not anything special in terms of coffee craft. Oat milk cappuccino was just ok
This is a top cupcake in the city and maybe in the US. Let me add, the cinnamon roll? Top tier. I didn't realize what this place was doing until I had a cupcake at Jerry's.

Unfortunately delicious - it's all just so decadent and tempting! Baked goods every bit as good as they look and so was the breakfast sandwich (I ordered it without the avocado and arugula which would have made it far more picturesque). The potatoes are phenomenal too.

Great food and service, however you lose 2 stars for automatically adding tip when paying and not telling customers.
Super cute! Biscuits and gravy was cold, stale and sorely lacking in the 3 ounces of gravy to help the humongous stale biscuit. Coffee amazing. Kind staff. Breakfast awful.
I absolutely love their cupcakes and they make a great cup of coffee too!
Great pastries, standard but solid coffee drinks and some entree items that to me are lacking a bit for breakfasts at least. Can be very busy and limited seating if you plan to dine in. If thinking of getting a full breakfast there are definitely better options but love it for the baked goods.
