Came here after a long day day, vibe was very casual. Highly recommend the Maffe if you like spicy peanuts and the Yassa Tilapia (the grilled onions had quite a spicy kick. So refreshing to enjoy flavor in the Midwest!
So, I love this place. I love the food and I love the setting, but they do have to work on customer service. I have on multiple occasions sat for over 10 mins before a server, hostess, or anything even approached me to ask how I can be helped, and we made eye contact.
This can cause people to become impatient and leave but I do love the food and understand patiencea and being short staffed. Outside of that everything is good here food wise

I can’t express how much i admire Gorée. It’s such a beautiful space to feast whether you’re by yourself, with family, or friends. In addition to Gorée being black owned by Adama Ba.
I dine here at least once a month, but as of late it’s been weekly!
Gorée is the ultimate experience, as it feels like home. The service is phenomenal, the ambiance is warm, the dishes are immaculate. And chefs don’t come to play!
