Website said it was open. I traveled cross town only to find the restaurant closed. SMH I was so excited.
Good food
Lovely place, excellent meals! Seems to be recently rebranded to "The New Grace Restaurant". Besides the really great customer service, the food is excellent. If you're a lover of authentic Ghanaian dishes, you should definitely make time to check this place out!For our first time here, we tried 'banku and tilapia' and 'banku with okro stew' ??... Definitely coming back to try the rest! Highly recommended.
Terrible. The foo6 was old.
Not a good place. Hygiene is lacking.
Authentic African (Ghanaian) cuisine with decent menu variety and small dine-in space. Soup dishes tend to be on the spicy side. Limited street parking. You’ll be lucky to get someone on the phone but if you’re on-site you’re be please with the food!
Of course it’s me again, with some more Waakye. This is a must when I go to Ghanaian restaurants. Grace’s African Restaurant did not fail me with this delicious tasting Waakye.
A great place to eat
The food was delicious and the service was great
I love the authentic culture it brings to Chicago, both in the food and atmosphere upon entrance to the restaurant. This is truly an amazing place to dine and have great conversation/ dialogue regarding various topics around the world. Customer service is fabulous. Just remember some food consist of being spicy, however ask and maybe the cook can fix you a special non-spicy dish. I enjoyed this place for years, just go visit and see the beauty in the food, music and decorations within this place.
Restaurantji Recommends
I've been going to this restaurant for like 4 years now. I love this place for their banku and okra soup, It takes about 30 min from hyde park to get there but I don't mind the drive. I'll give it 4 star for now, when they start accepting cards or zelle I'll give it a 5.
Great food. Nice people
The food is spectacular! Went there for Mother's day. They pile it high.
The best so far. Workers should be friendly to customers. Overall, you made my stay in Chicago a good one
The staff was quiet, but very friendly and the food was pretty good. I had a friend in middle school who I used to go home with after school and she always had awesome African food. I haven't seen her in years or had those meals since, but I saw on Grace African Restaurant's menu that they had some of the same recipes my friend used to make for me. I knew I had to go and try that food again after all these years. It was just an awesome meal and a trip down memory lane for me. I recommend this place!
