On this night, we visited our local Iowa Hawkeye bar, Gracie O’Malley’s to enjoy some NCAA women’s basketball amazing number 22 Kaitlyn Clark. This bar is pretty big and well appointed, with lots of TVs for viewing and an outdoor seating area when the weather permits. They have grace solution of beers in full bar with some delightful proprietary cocktails.Their kitchen is banging out some amazing dishes, such as the pulled pork poutine, the grace, O’Malley‘s burger and the southwest chicken sandwich. The burger was juicy and delicious. The chicken sandwich was crispy and spicy and you came on a brioche bun. Topped with fresh tomatoes and purple onions. Very well and very tasty. I paired it with mac & cheese, which is not a traditional mac & cheese by any means. This mac & cheese was out of this world. Fantastic! The only reason why this place did not get a five star rating was because they were short a waitress on this particular Monday. However, our bartender was very social and accommodating. Will definitely be back again for final four.

We ordered the Shepards Pie, chicken and fish combo, pretzels and of course the Mac 'n Cheese. The Sheppards pie was the BEST I've ever had. Very flavorful and smooth and well balanced. The fish was fresh and flaky and the Chicken was crispy and moist and flavorful. Both were a good size and came with an enormous helping of fries. The pretzel was soft and had a perfect amount of salt and the Mac... well, still one of my faves. Our server was great and had a great time with a great community sharing another Iowa Hawks victory. See you all Sunday!

Food was good! And big plates:) decided to try a new irish spot for st. Patricks day as my son is half irish so he wanted to go to a kid friendly irish pub/restaurant. good prices and atmosphere. However all the employees were inviting and attentive... except our waitress. She made my family uncomfortable that they walked out and left me (I was in the bathroom)Still left a 20% tip , as I know some places tip pool. But otherwise I would of left 15%. I hope the owners train their staff. Nothing is more unpleasant than an employee doing their job with bad attitudes.Edit: date was 3/17/24 @ about 1:30pm

I wouldn't call this an Irish pub at all. When I politely requested to know if they would be showing the Ireland versus Scotland rugby game on Saturday morning I was surprised that they would not let me reserve a table or even show the game despite its importance to Irish people. Very easy business lost that you'll make anyway on saturday.Go raibh maith agat.

Normally I wouldn’t leave such a bad review for such a small detail, but the response from the server and manager left me no choice. I cringe every time I see a bar, especially one representing themselves as a take on a European establishment (in this case Irish), use a shaker pint for draft beer. I choked down my first flat, piss warm Modelo and asked on my next one if I could have a pint glass. I was told that was a pint glass. I tried to explain that it is actually a shaker pint and not intended for beer, and the one used for Guinness is an actual pint glass. I was told I was wrong and the Guinness glass is 20oz. I guess the fact that this glass is an imperial pint designed to leave 4 oz of room for head was lost on them.It saddens me to see a cool bar in a vibrant city that I love curate a great draft beer selection only to destroy the flavor by using the wrong glass and not teach their staff how to properly pour it. I’m sure the vendor will show you both of these free of charge. I’m only writing this review in the hopes that someone sees it and changes it. My only motivation in doing so is the beer. Someone worked hard to brew it and bring it to you, so please quit ruining it. And when someone asks you for a pint glass, even if it’s not for Guinness, just give them one.End of rant. Change your glassware and I’ll take down this review.

Wow what an improvement! We were here for an early dinner on a football Saturday and expected a quiet time with slightly above-average food. Instead the place was packed, the menu upgraded, the drinks strong & a fun waitstaff. We'll be back & stoked to finally have a decent food spot besides Community!

Gracie O'Malley's is the ultimate spot! The food is consistently getting better, and the beer list is an absolute hit. The vibe? Incredibly friendly. The staff? Beyond chill and genuinely friendly. It quickly became our top go-to bar. The bar setup is not just cute--it's downright adorable, creating an overall vibe that feels like a warm welcome hug. Whether you're up for a laid-back beer with friends, catching games with your buddies, or grabbing a bite with family, Gracie O'Malley's effortlessly checks all the boxes!

Unbelievable!!! A new found hidden gem for me. Gracie O'Malley's in Portage Park has been there for a minute, but I was just recently introduced. OMG!!! I loved every aspect of this place. The bartenders are top-notch. Very attentive and personable. The atmosphere was very inviting. And the food!!! The food is amazing. The bartender recommended that they grill the wings. Gamechanger!!! The burgers are out of this world. And my buddy that I went with had the Shepard's Pie, um, yes please!!! If you are looking for a place to eat near the Portage Park area, I highly recommend this spot. And they are kid friendly, huge plus!!!

My friends and I stopped by for a round of shots. We had our drinks and paid the tab. I completely forgot to grab my debit card off the clipboard before we rushed out to catch the Irving bus. Minutes later, one of the bartenders ran down the block to reunite me with my card!!! What an angel. I’m so grateful!
