We ate all the fries although we don't even like fries but these are really good
The salmon arrived 3 minutes after being ordered covered with an unrelated liquid, and was over-ripened under the warmer. The brocholine was very good.
Walked in 05/24/25 at 4:45 pm party of 5. Forgot to make a reservation. Very nicely told they were all booked for the early evening. Another employee came along and I could tell she was trying to figure how to fit us in. They did! Service was great and so was the food. Side note; Our server was rushing all over as another employee had called in and our server was doing double duty that afternoon. It wasn’t perfect service but she still did a wonderful job. My hats off to her for busting her butt and tipped her $40 for a $100 bill. Thank you!
Perhaps best described as a place of convenience. Given the incredible food options in Chicago, I wouldn’t recommend it.
My veggie scramble was just eggs topped with a bit of salsa — hardly any actual vegetables. My wife’s Eggs Benedict arrived cold. Our guests had the French toast and the American breakfast and didn’t raise any complaints, so some items may be more reliable.
Service was also disappointing. Our server disappeared for a long stretch after dropping off our food. When he returned, he asked if anyone had checked in on us while he was gone. After we said no, he apologized and offered to comp the next round of drinks, which we appreciated.
The water is mid. I’m scared.
Great Spot for a Relaxed Bite and Drinks!
We stopped by Grand Park Bistro during happy hour and had a fantastic experience. The burger was delicious—juicy and flavorful—and the drinks were perfectly crafted. The prices were very reasonable, especially for such a nice spot located right under the Essex Hotel. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, making it a great place to unwind. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!
I'm sitting here right now. Haven't tried the food but with how slow the service is, I might never get to. Won't be back. 👎
Overall 10 stars!
Chicken sandwich was everything I wanted! Crisp, flavorful with just the right spice.
The staff is kind and attentive.
Highly recommend!
Grant Park Bistro offers great service with friendly staff and beautiful views of the park. The space is bright and inviting, making for a pleasant dining experience. While the food is decent for a hotel restaurant, the high prices combined with confusing destination fee vouchers made it feel less worth it. Still, the overall atmosphere and service were solid, just be aware of the extra charges when planning your visit to this hotel.
It took a while just to get the host to return to the stand, and even longer for him to actually seat us. When he finally did, he led us (party of 2) to a cramped corner table, despite there being three empty booths available.
I asked if we could instead sit at one of the booths instead, but he refused, claiming they were reserved for parties of more than two - even though there were multiple booths already seated with just two people. When I said the corner table wouldn't work for us, he said our only other option was to sit at the bar so we chose to leave.
Since we stayed at the connected hotel, we walked by the bistro a few times after and each time we saw booths with only two people seated.
Really unwelcoming experience, would not recommend.

how do you have a hotel with a restaurant and you go in there and there’s all empty tables and request a table for five people and he said it’s all reserved only because it has a little reserved little thing on the table plaque and then he said oh well our brunch is really, really popular and these are all reserved and then we sat there for an hour in the two top and the three at the bar and the restaurant was more empty than when we first got there so thank you. I’m complaining to the Marriott hotels.
Very nice restaurant across from the park. Waitress was super nice and multiple waitstaff checked on us throughout the meal. The food was really great.
Wholly underwhelming on many fronts.
We are from Britain and dined here from 6th Feb to 11th Feb and it was excellent!
The food was outstanding and the service was so amazing especially Felix who served us breakfast twice.
Thank you for making our stay in the hotel next to the bistro even better!
We had a very good dinner there. The wings were delicious and my strip steak was cooked beautifully. Five stars.
