It was my husbands birthday while we were out camping at Lake Carlyle. We wanted to go sit outside somewhere and have a beer (we had our 2 dogs with us) Stopped at Gridiron. The Bartender was super nice, and very helpful. We had asked for recommendations for soft serve ice cream. he wrote them down for us, and told us about how far away each one was. While we were sitting outside we decided on a snack of cheese curds... YUMMY... they were so very good. I can tell it might just be a local hang out (a few elder men sitting inside having drinks) The outside area was clean and had very nice chairs, tables and umbrellas, and looks like some of the tables had a fire in the middle of them.

Sampled 2 burgers today. The Cowgirl and the Smash Burger. Both were tender and juicy to the point of being messy with juice and I loved it. Excellent flavor, great toppings and soft, delicious toasted buns. The Mac and cheese was delicious as well... better than most.

We have eaten at Gridiron Grill several times and always enjoy our meal. The chicken breast sandwiches are amazing and is always a very large piece of chicken. The buffalo chicken is my favorite. The salads are huge and the service has always been pretty good. They have a large selection of beer and other drinks.

Tried to eat there two or three times and every time they ignored us. Heard they had good chicken wings so called in an order. Again they forgot the order. We waited while they made them and the were undercooked

Went on a Friday night for dinner. Bar was about 3/4 full. Reasonable wait time for service. Wife & I both ordered salads & chicken wings. Salads arrived in good time but the wings took forever. Over 40 minutes from the time we finished our salads until wings arrived. The quality of the food was excellent but too long to wait. We really enjoy eating here but this has been a constant issue over the years. Keeps us from coming back more often.

This is a nice bar/restaurant with the best hot wings around. I always get the honey hot, as do the kids. They have a ton of appetizers to eat with the wings too along with a full menu, but I always get wings because they are so good.

I've been here a couple times in the last month. I was very surprised by the good food and beer selection. I went with the cheeseburger on pretzel bun and a Blue Moon. Everyone is our group liked their food...mostly a variety of sandwiches and fried sides. I would definitely come back.

I've been here for many meals at different times throughout the day. They have a typical bar menu with many added items to remind you its not just a bar but a restaurant as well. They have great BOGO items as well as great daily and lunch specials. Food 4/5 would typically rate bar food at about a 3 or lower but this food does taste good and you can taste freshness in many of the items also there are many items on the menu reminding you its not just bar food. I do know the chef there and know he attended culinary school and takes food very seriously, which is a major plus as you can expect quality food products! Environment 4/5 great for sports fans as this is a REAL non-corporate sports bar. I'm a huge Eagles fan and since I'm in the St Louis area there's many times that their games are not aired unless you have Sunday ticket, which I don't, in these cases I have found myself at Gridiron on many occasions. They do lose a point because yes it's great for the sports fan but the non sports fan, such as my wife, finds them self on their phone more than paying attention to the real world. Service 4/5 point lost on a couple occasions where I've experienced bad service. I can say though I can only think of 2 out of the several times I've been there. Most annoying one was me needing a refill and I see our server on her phone for the five minutes I need it and if she would simply look I would've been seen. For drinks 4/5 great sports bar that packs in a great crowd. Drinks are not expensive I have had to explain drink recipes for fairly common drinks as well as send one or two back because it was simply not good. Will still return though. Overall I recommend this place to friends and family and Trip Adviser readers. It is probably one of the best bars in the Breese area.
