So my husband brought me here for a valentines surprise dinner! From the start our experience was underwhelming! Our reservation was for 8:15pm on Valentine’s Day. I admit due to traffic we only got there around 8:25pm. I get us being late, but to be only sat at a table around 8:50pm was strange! To add on, the host told us to sit by the bar area, but because so many other people were waiting too, we sat on some sofas which had a dirty table filled with leftover napkins, cups etc! Just unacceptable for a high end steak house to have such a dirty waiting lounge area! Their delayed seating seemed a huge issue cause they were sooooo many people waiting by the entrance waiting to be seated! It was crowded and just unappealing! Knowing VDay is such a popular day I’d have thought they’d have expected and planned for such a busy night! The manager did come apologize to us at the end of the night mentioning how busy a night it had been and hoping we return on a more calmer day! Ya no!

Finally seated, we ordered starters off their valentines menu. I got the shrimp firecracker and my husband got the crab cake! I kid you not, it took almost an hour for these ‘simple’ starters to arrive! We had to ask our server several times like should an appetizer take this long? To add insult to injury, people who’d been seated after us had already received their meals! At least both meals tasted great!

Mains were the 16oz ribeye and the halibut with nice shareable sizes of mushroom, grilled Brussels sprouts and lobster Mac n cheese! These tasted lovely and were decently portioned! The ribeye steak was kinda tough even though we’d asked for medium rare!

Dessert was the carrot cake which was nice! Strange they don’t offer simple ordinary ice cream! Everything was either coming with gelato or nothing! Strange again!

They also need to instill some kind of dress code! There was the most atrocious dressing for some of their patrons which was just an eye sore! I’m not saying it’s a high class theater and people need to be dressed to the nines but come on, some families came with kids, others were elderly couples, we don’t want to see barely dressed women with their chest areas falling out as we try eat! They really could have a dress policy, we’ve seen other high class restaurants do so!

To make the chaotic night even more unpleasant, my husband paid the bill (a hefty price cause these dishes ain’t cheap). He ‘tipped’ our server a decent amount which we thought was alright, but the server came back to complain about how small the tip was! I kid you not, after just paying a pretty penny of over +$350 for substandard service (our server was just ok, we’ve had far better elsewhere), mediocre customer care and a so so experience, for that server to say that was madness!

We quickly got out of there! The whole VDay experience was just ok! We’ve been to some real fine dining restaurants before and some casual simple restaurants too and have had a better experience at those places too! Grill on 21; mid experience!

The wait to be seated with a reservation was deplorable! The menu is limited and not much to offer. I did enjoy my salad and the waiter was nice. I expected more from this place, some of the other diners were a little uncouth but that's not the restaurant's fault.

steak was severely undercooked, slide almost raw after we sent it back 2 times, then didn't offer anything but to get a different steak and was almost charred to crisp. def would not come

Great ambience. There was a jazz trio playing in the bar. The bar is very Chicago and beautiful. The dining room was nicely laid out with booths and tables. Food was good, not great. Our waitress not great. Attentive but not well informed. She BS'ed when going through wine list which had very nice selections. Should go for a drink.

A true HIDDEN GEM tucked inside the LaSalle Hotel! From the moment we walked in, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Every single staff member played a role in making the evening feel special—from the person who greeted us and kept our bread warm and water glasses filled, to the team seamlessly clearing and resetting the table with perfect timing. Nothing was rushed, nothing was overlooked.

We started with the lollipop lamb chops—four generous, perfectly cooked pieces that were absolutely delicious. For dinner, the Delmonico ribeye was outstanding, served with mushrooms and potato purée (mashed potatoes). A standout touch: the steak comes with a half head of roasted garlic to mix into the potatoes, along with two different specialty salts that elevated every bite.

The smoked Old Fashioned is an absolute must. It had the perfect balance of smoke and flavor—hands down one of the best we’ve had.

Our server, Eric, was phenomenal. Every recommendation he made was spot on, and his attention to detail truly enhanced our experience. The managers were also present throughout the evening, checking in with guests and making sure everything was flawless.

As we were leaving for a play, a three-piece quartet was setting up for live music, adding yet another layer to the already fantastic atmosphere. Exceptional food, impeccable service at every level, and a warm, polished ambiance—this place sets the standard and is a definite must-return.

Went for restaurant week. The short rib was very good, but the carrot cake was bland and Oyster Rockefeller was more like spinach dip than oyster. Flavors were OK, but I expected more. Wait staff was slow to initially come by and take our order, silverware was dirty, and each member of the wait team seemed to be unaware of what the other was doing, e.g., entree food was brought out but it took 5 minutes to get new silverware. NOTE: This is one of those places that has regular water, but they ask what type of Evian you want ($10 charge). And there is a service charge of 3.5%. Overall this was an OK value for restaurant week, but I left disappointed. I don't think we'll be back.

Had an absolutely wonderful time here for dinner! The Truffle Risotto was one of the best I’ve ever tried. The service was great from the checkin to our server to the management coming up to thank us! Would 100% return!

Service was impeccable!! Had the Lobster Bisque and the Del Monico Ribeye cooked Chicago Blue. Far and away the most flavorful and perfectly prepared ribeye I’ve experienced. Went with the truffle butter on the side which was very good but found the steak needed nothing. Fork tender and melted into my tastebuds. The Lobster Bisque was an experience in itself that left me craving another bite.

The place is ok. The atmosphere is ok. The food was the same as everywhere else however EXTREMELY OVERPRICED for what you get. I could have grilled my own steak that tasted better for less than $15. I wasn't impressed but it has potential.

Went out for a group dinner from an event. Ambience was very nice. Predetermined menu and they served crab cake and salad it was great. Ordered Salmon for main course and drinks were little expensive but is expected being in the center of city on a nice 21st floor with great ambience.

We had a decent experience here.

We were first served a small puff pastry and then our choice of bread with French butter and Tuscan olive oil. It was a nice intro into the meal.

We ordered an appetizer of Oysters Rockefeller and entrees of Steak Frites and Roasted Chicken. We loved the food, although my one nit to pick was that the steak was slightly more underdone than we had requested and chewy. Nonetheless, we cleaned out plates.

The service was ok. The restaurant itself was quite nice. Yet, we overall observed a very pretentious vibe from patrons and staff altogether. Obviously, you’re going to get that more in the city, especially with nice restaurants, but it was still more than we had anticipated.

In sum, we had a great time and a good meal. The vibe was a bit off for us, but that may just be a personal preference type of thing. I might visit again if I was staying immediately nearby.
