2 stars because the service was outstanding. We prefer the chain restaurants over the chicken at Gus's

Plenty of seating at tables and at the bar. Came in for during happy hour for cheap beer and cocktails. Our server was attentive but also could hear us basically whispering to put in more food drink orders. Food is on the pricier side for the portions being in Fulton Market but the quantity is sufficient. The potato salad was a miss for me with a slight cinnamon taste to it. I always remembered the fried pickles being chips but we received spears which made eating the fresh fried pickle challenging. The chicken was fried well with the insides still retaining plenty of moisture. The seasoning has good flavor but after one it gets too salty and the heat may sneak up on you. We always get a 40 to wash down our chicken, one of the only places I know that serves it.

Chicken was pretty good but the service was horrible. Our waitress was not pleasant at all and definitely did not want to be there. We only saw her once when she took our order and then she disappeared.

I first had Gus' around Memphis area and it tasted great for fried chicken. It includes a very small spice kick but with great flavor and cooked well. This tasted similar to Memphis area, so consistency is good so far.My order had a very minor mix-up and the staff were happy to help correct it. Great service, great food.I personally think the pricing is too high considering it is chicken, but at the least the flavor is great and worth it for maybe once a week. This is the same problem at the Memphis area for high pricing, it's quite similar.

For $11.95, the chicken sandwich combo is fresh, hot, homemade, and a big portion for the price. Fried chicken is not something I crave too often, but $11.95 is basically a Big Mac combo price these days. Gus’s is much better quality with nicer service. Would I go out of my way to return? Probably not. Would I visit again if I was in the area and wanted a fast food type meal? Sure!

Without being too ostentatious, Gus's has one of the best burgers in Westloop (considering Au Cheval and Kuma's are around the corner)You seat where you want, the tables and chairs are part of the southern decor, in addition to the plates used for the food.Their Arnold Palmer is so but so good! (ony of my fav), simple and to the point. They give you refills that you can take out.The Fried Chicken here is spicy, crunchy, tasty, delicious (this one has better quality than Harold's, imo). The garnish has the same quality, the green tomatoes are a must! Coleslaw is fresh and juicy.Cool they have Texas Pete (yeah, it is not from Texas). The Staff is effective, and your food is served quick and hot.The price is reasonable and relatively cheap, considering the quality, the refills, and quick way to get your food. The hamburger has pickle and the dressing they use pairs so good with the Chicken. They have high chairs.Parking: Extremely limited street parking. But paid garage options aroundKid-friendliness: They have high chairs.

Normally, I would've said Five ? stars ? because the chicken is tasty. I had to lower a point because it was slightly old. Another star off because it was not a little expensive but extremely expensive!!! This isn't gourmet, ok?! 2 ppl = $67, is a lot of chicken. *also please go 15% off on the salt*, as it was very salty - including the collard greens!!! Very expensive and you may or may not get it freshly made.. pls correct those and it'll gladly be five stars!

Not fussy, just freaking good. The chicken came out fresh and was so crispy with great flavor. The chicken breast was so juicy and cooked perfectly. The seasoned fries are delicious. Will definitely come back!
