Every time I have my in-laws in from Puerto Rico, I order take out from Habana Libre. They always comment on the authenticity of the Caribbean restaurant and reminds them of that island culture. Rich in flavor, and almost every menu item is delicious. Very friendly staff. Only issue is maybe the aesthetics, but otherwise I'd say 4.5 stars.

Very solid Cuban cuisine. Came by for lunch yesterday with my wife and tried the Cubano and steak sandwiches along with a side of beans and rice. The bread was perfect, the flavors were solid, and the hot sauce was a nice addition to the proceedings. And this food hit the table super fast. We could have been in and out in 30 minutes if we wanted to. For $23 we got a lot of food. Looking forward to a return visit!

Went there for the first time yesterday and got the sampler platter. It was fantastic. I absolutely loved everything - steak, pork, shrimp - it was all great!
Came here Friday evening with my girlfriend as we were craving Cuban food and this place did not disappoint! Friendly and attentive staff, freshly cooked Cuban cuisine and authentic decor make this place a must try and I would put their food up against any more popular Cuban places in Chicago. The Cuban was filling and had a ton of freshly sliced meats and the Cuban breakfast was plentiful and filling. We will be back soon!

Surrounded by Latin fare restaurants across the street and nextdoor. This place is the gem. The neighboring places are fancier from the outside with outdoor street seating, but where this Habana Libre lacks in curb appeal it makes up for in quality and service. Awesome food. Solid homemade authentic Cuban cuisine. You won't be disappointed. Daily specials are on point traditional comfort food.
