What a great experience. The food absolutely amazing. The service was A+ very helpful and attentive and knowledgeable. The ambience was great. The drinks amazing. Just want to say thank you to staff for great dinner experience for me and my girls on Valentines weekend. We will be back soon.
Last night was honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences we've ever had. It took about 10 minutes just to be acknowledged when we walked in. Several staff members behind the bar saw us but no one greeted us or let us know someone would be with us. The hostess was kind and eventually seated us. After being seated, we were given water and then completely forgotten. For over 15 minutes, multiple servers walked past our table and attended to everyone around us without saying a single word. We felt ignored and honestly hurt by how invisible we were made to feel. We decided to leave and explained why to the hostess. She apologized but no effort was made to fix the situation or have someone come speak to us. We came in having a great evening and didn't want our night ruined, so we left. It is unfortunate we never got to try the food because the service alone made us not want to stay.
The food was outstanding!!! The cocktails were amazing. Service was busy but good. Highly recommend.
What else would you expect from Thai & Danielle Dang, the hottest restaurant pair at this moment, but fresh, bursting but balanced flavor in every bite. We had the Valentine's Day Grand Tasting Tour of 3 starters and 2 mains plus sides and dessert for $80. Highlight "for fun" course featured baby broccoli with guava, tamarind, Vietnamese herbs, and fried shallots. Mains were a roasted five spice chicken and a Com Dia grilled Wagyu beef with rice, pickled veg, and onion/scallioin salad. The mix of fat, acid, and starch was perfect. Dessert was great (says my wife...I'm not a sweets guy.) Wife got the bev pairing of 2 glasses of wine (Idlewild "Bee Flora and Fauna" and a Fable Pinot Noir.) They were very good but the highlight was a Vietnamese coffee and Cardamaro Espresso Martini with the dessert course. Overall it was a wonderful evening. My 2 final comments are I wish I lived closer to here, and parking in Pilsen is getting pretty challenging. It took me 10 mins at 5:30p on a Sat to find a spot for someone who knows the parking scene here well (been to Pilsen 20 times in the past 4 yrs). So ride share and have a fantastic meal!
High quality food, just a few hiccups that needed to be ironed out for a higher rating, but excellent date night restaurant.
HaiSous Vietnamese Kitchen is undeniably good - which is why the hype left me somewhat confused.
Every dish was enjoyable, yet nothing truly stood out as exceptional. The Bò Nướng Tỏi came closest, featuring beautifully cooked Australian Wagyu with vibrant lemongrass and chili-lime flavors.
The Bún Xào Cua was pleasant but forgettable. Well-cooked noodles, decent flavor, but missing depth or character.
The cookie crust cream puff with Vietnamese coffee filling was simple, lightly sweet, and easily shareable — satisfying but not memorable.
Cocktails were good, and the ambience well decorated with open kitchen and chefs’ counter add energy to the space.
Service was attentive. Parking can be challenging.

The cocktails were great! Food standouts were the calamari, chicken wings and crab noodles. The grilled eggplant had great flavor but fell short because it was cold. Overall fantastic service, definitely a cute date night spot!
Wonderful food, interesting cocktails, and friendly well-trained staff werethe highlights for me at HaiSous. Tight spaces between tables and overpriced wine are my only complaints.
The restaurant week menu didn't make sense with random selections. They didn't allow to choose one vegetarian and one regular restaurant week menu so we ended up ordering from regular menu. The food was ok but not special. The curry dish doesn't come with rice which is very strange and they didn't bother telling us when we ordered. This was our third time at the restaurant and i think we have tried everything on the menu. Overal not a great value
We are regulars visiting 4-5 times a year. Despite the very crowded evening, the staff moved efficiently and served effortlessly. Our server - Elizabeth - spoke with authority about the menu and the beverages. Everything - I mean EVERYTHING - was spot on.

Our experience at HaiSous during Chicago Restaurant Week was absolutely outstanding! Every course on the fixed menu—from the appetizers all the way to dessert—was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. We loved that all items on the veg or non-veg menus were included, which gave us the chance to sample a fantastic range of dishes. Our server was exceptional, offering excellent drink recommendations that perfectly complemented our meal. I can't recommend HaiSous enough, and we are already looking forward to our next visit!
We went during restaurant week and felt rushed. Food came out before drinks and server was not accomodating when we mentioned it. Food was good overall but wouldn't recommend during restaurant week.
The food and cocktails were so craveable. The whole fried fluke is totally worth it. Don't skip the crab fried rice. We sat at the bar and was disappointed at the level of service. Our bartenders were very kind but the service well was slammed and it felt understaffed. Food came out before cocktails, water glasses were empty a couple of times and anytime we needed something, it took a couple minutes to get their attention. I will definitely book early and get a table next time. Felt like we didn't get the full experience that HaiSous is known for. Will definitely be back to try again.
If I could 0 stars I would because I reserved my birthday dinner here during the Chicago restaurant week weeks in advance for 2. I am a vegetarian and my husband is not. They said we have to both get vegetarian or non-vegetarian or pay $15 each to get separate menus. This was a very disappointing service experience. Perhaps the food here is worth the glory. Sadly, I didn’t get to try it and will likely not be back to try it.

Appetizers were good but portions for main course and dessert were tiny for restaurant week. The platter for the main course was quite underwhelming, considering that the main proteins are just processed meat (pork sausages) and dry chicken. Dessert is also bland and low effort.
