We had the best time at Half Shell! So cozy & delicious for year round seafood. Our server was so friendly & knowledgeable. Everthing tasted so fresh - we can’t wait to be back in the summer to enjoy the patio!

I went to Halfshell for the first time today. I ordered the shrimp and corn chowder and the king crab legs with fries. The soup was delicious and full of flavor. The king crab legs and fries came out steaming hot. The crab was meaty and full of flavor. The service was excellent. This is a place I'll definitely return to for a low key vibe and good seafood.

Ok pescatarian heaven. Seafood legend since 1968 for a reason! Loved it!! Probably the freshest crab I’ve tasted. Clam chowder was amazing and fried shrimp rocked. Oh and those Grilled Oysters and cheese on them! They got beer wine and cocktails and fun ones too! You can miss this spot, it’s a Chicago tradition! @chicagopescetarian

I cannot recommend this place more. It is 100% a place you have to visit when on the north side of Chicago. We had the grilled oysters for an appetizer and oh my gosh!!! The salad with the house made salad dressing is phenomenal. But the king crab legs, oh so good and enough to satisfy my middle linebacker husband! And when you go ask for Mike, the absolute BEST!!!

Great happy hour deal - $1 oysters and pretty cheap wine and margs as well.
After years of wanting to visit, we finally did. Was pressured by reviews that this place was great. Had the sesame seared tuna, was just ok, not alot of flavor. Could have been seared on both sides a little longer, was a little under cooked. My wife had the half king crab leg and half snow crab legs combo. She said there wasn't alot of flavor, and the butter isn't drawn butter, it's more like melted butter with garlic and mayonnaise type base. Fried calamari was good. Really wanted to like it, but not at all. Our first and unfortunately last time going here. Seafood should have came with a salad choice for same price instead of French fries. 100.00 for 22 ounce of crab legs, but the MP is a real lesson in disparity as of late in the Chicago area. Some places are 175.00 a pound. Anyways king crab leg shell was soft and hard to break open.

Had a great lunch here for the first time. I had the snow crab and king crab combo. It was served on a bed of skinny french fries. It was steamed perfectly the meat came out of the show very easily.
Our server was very kind and actually started cracking some of the legs and told me I was leaving some of the good parts.
