We went to The Half Shell For the first time on a Saturday night, it also happened to be Valentine’s Day. They don’t take reservations and it was a long wait, but so well worth it. We had a nice time chatting with some of the other people who were waiting and once we got our food, it was wonderful. I’m a big fan of crabcakes and the ones I had at The Half Shell were perfect. We had appetizers and soup and an entree so we felt the pricing was very reasonable. The service was excellent. This place was founded in 1968 and it still has a similar atmosphere, which we loved. We will definitely be back..
Food was amazing. A friend and I went here on a whim and were definitely impressed. We ordered snow crab and got us pretty nice servings. The servers were kind without feeling overly polite. I definitely recommend this place and I wanna bring more friends here.

Nice little dive bar in Lakeview east. Cash only. Had the rotating oysters that were imported from Canada and they were fresh. Had an espresso martini and clam chowder. It’s always a good vibe here. Been here a few times and it is never crowded (don’t let that fool you, it’s good). Good vibe to escape from reality. Bartenders are down to earth and welcoming to all people.

We had the best time at Half Shell! So cozy & delicious for year round seafood. Our server was so friendly & knowledgeable. Everthing tasted so fresh - we can’t wait to be back in the summer to enjoy the patio!

I went to Halfshell for the first time today. I ordered the shrimp and corn chowder and the king crab legs with fries. The soup was delicious and full of flavor. The king crab legs and fries came out steaming hot. The crab was meaty and full of flavor. The service was excellent. This is a place I'll definitely return to for a low key vibe and good seafood.
