Love this place. It’s casual with great seafood. The king crab is a must and their clam chowder is amazing. You. One thing to note is that is CASH ONLY but there is an ATM inside.

You may see several photos from my rating because this is one of my favorite places to eat in Chicago.
You will never be disappointed in the menu, services and price.
I always go for the split of king and snow crab.
Your plate will come with a bed of friends covered with crab legs that are big, delicious and will leave you full.
You get a tiger lollipop that's tucked away in your plate.... I can not say one bad thing about half shell!

This is my second visit to the Half Shell. The first time was over 20 years ago and I’ve been wanting to come back ever since. Truly the best crab legs I’ve ever eaten and the experience was just as good if not better this time around. A truly hidden gem. This place has it all…..the best seafood, the best service, and the best atmosphere. Definitely won’t wait another 20 years to come back to Chicago because I’ve got to come back here again soon!
