One of the best burgers I have had in Chicago. Highly recommend
This is my Cheers. Perfect spot for a round or two, brunch, or other. They’re quality people running a quality place.
Can catch Harry Potter, sports, or weird cooking shows at the bar if desired, or chat it up with the beloved staff.
Cute outdoor seating beneath trees with lights when the weather is favorable.

After running the marathon, I was hungry for some brunch. My friends decided to meet up here since it was within walking distance of the festivities. Half Sour is really pretty inside with a very chill vibe. I’d want to come back sometime after work for a drink.

The staff was friendly, and made sure I was taken care of. The fried chicken sandwich was 👌👌👌 delicious. If I lived locally I'd visit fairly often.

I’m been coming to Half Sour for 2.5 years now. The food has never disappointed. They have NEW specials that rotate every 2-3 weeks (sometimes each week) and it’s always nice coming and trying something new because their cooks are great. The people are great, including one of the owners… Jessie. Gracie is always nice and candid, love it! They have random comedy shows and different activities going on and the ambience is always nice - music is cultured - they switch between genres and vibes. Genuinely a great place to live close to! And no wait time usually - you just seat yourself wherever. Fun fact I had my first date ever with my boyfriend here and we still come years later. Try it out.
Update: 10 minutes after making this post (while at Half Sour), Jessie sent me home with a sweet treat.

Solid food, buddy had a fried chicken sandwich and i had a reuben. Fries are so good. Serving size was a bit lacking but not the end of the world. Overall a good place.

My husband and I recently stumbled upon Half Sour for some drinks during our anniversary. The drinks were quick, attentive, and delicious, our service superb, and the cheese curds are divine—coming from a Wisconsinite. A small, little joint full of personality. Highly recommend.
