Came in after a walking tour of Chinatown for this low-key diner and were pleasantly surprised by the two vegetable dishes: Braided winter melon 紅燒冬瓜 and Shredded cabbage 手撕包菜. The winter melon was soaked in a flavorful broth and had a very soft texture that resembled cotton: a great companion for rice! The cabbage was intensely hot and sour but still within the pleasant range. We also enjoyed the appetizer of beef honeycomb tripe 涼拌牛肚. Since Hunan cooking is known for the use of cured meat, we were excited to try the Cured meat with bamboo shoots 臘肉筍尖. However, the dish was merely okay. The cured meat was way too fatty and the bamboo shoots were less fresh.Overall, it's a good meal. The staff was enjoying a less busy day and one needed to call for attention and service. The four of us finished all the dishes except the cured meat. May give it a try next time with other dishes.

Stopped here for a quick lunch, whilst exploring China Town. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was good value and tasty. Would go back.

My go-to restaurant to order my pickup. Good taste, not greasy not oily, reasonable price and they do satisfy you, I always ask them to cook with less oil, and they do a perfect job. You know 90% of the chefs will not do as you asked, but they do, so they deserve this 5-star reviews. If you like Hunan cuisine, you don’t want to miss this restaurant.

Undoubtedly the best authentic Hunan dishes in greater Chicago area. Probably the best in this country. For those who complain about the spiciness of their food, yes that's exactly the taste of Changsha.小炒肉 is my favorite and I order 3 servings for takeout everytime I come here from suburb.

If you are American do not patronize this business. Charged me $2 for small bottle of water. And then started speaking Chinese to another customer as they all laughed. I decided to take the high road and leave the establishment because you can’t fix ignorance.

Tasty and authentic! The stir-fried green beans are (almost) just like the ones my mom makes ?

I don't know if the restaurant changed the ownership or hired a new chef. It is not the same restaurant as before. So sad. The taste is not same as before. It was one of the best authentic Chinese restaurant in Chicago. But it is not any more. I ordered 4 dishes which are my favorite. All 4 dishes tasted worse than before. So sad.

When anyone asks me where to go for a good piece of beef, I tell them Brazil. But if you can not handle the twenty hour flight, then I think you can be quite satisfied with Harris. The aged porterhouse is seriously no joke, it is hands down the best steak in San Francisco. The ambiance, service, and appetizers are all great, but it's the steak that will keep me coming back.

We arrive spot on at 7:00 p.m. on a Friday night. The four of had all ready had a few glasses of wine so we were all in a good mood. The outside of Harris is subdued colors not give you a hint what lays inside. The doorman opens and the door and you are transported back to San Francisco in the 50's. The dark wood paneling and the hushed carpet make it feel like on old school men's club. We are shown right to our table which happens to be a brown leather booth that has a great view of the room.
Similar to House of Prime Rib since the prices are reasonable and the steaks are really juicy. The texture of the steaks were really good and it wasn't tough like some other places that I know of.They blend some good matching wines, appetizers and desserts for whatever you're ordering. It made my date smile alot since the service is fantastico. This place reminded me of this mom n pop place in NYC. Because the steaks are aged, the flavor and marinade they use blend perfectly. If you can eat alot, come here!

Best Hunan cuisine I've had in a while: recommend their pork dishes (esp. Mao's pork belly + twice cooked pork), as well as the beef short ribs

Easily the best chinese food in town. It's authentic Hunan cuisine which is spicy and savory!
