Amazing food! Had a great lox bagel and probably the best rugelach I’ve ever eaten. I will definitely be back! If the front door is locked when you go by, just knock and someone will come let you in!

Excellent bagels and great customer service. Only knock is that they are a bit pricey.

If you enjoy traditional deli sandwiches or are looking for a ‘New York’ deli: you’ve found it in Chicago. Their Reuben’s are Chef’s Kiss 💋 Everything is prepared fresh and you can absolutely taste it. I can’t wait to try their other sandwiches, salads and breakfast items.

We went here for lunch today on my birthday and had a great experience! We got two sandwiches (A Reuben, and a Turkey/Roast beef with spicy mayo) to split with egg salad on the side and everything was amazing!! The owners were funny and so kind, we will for sure be back to say hi and try more

Visiting from California - how nice to stumble upon a Jewish deli! I got my son a pastrami and corn beef sandwich on rye. Haven’t seen him enjoy food this much in a long time!

So, I’ve lived in this neighborhood for some time but have never made it out to this deli but I was in the mood for soup and a bagel, so I stopped in. BOY, WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!! I came in at 12:25 on Tuesday, Oct. 8th, to no one behind the counter. A woman rushed in and asked me for my order while she was headed to the kitchen? I was confused as she did not address me directly or look at me so I patiently waited even longer. She then asked me for my order again, I asked for a matzo ball soup. She yelled at me again, “WHAT?!” and I repeated my order. She then continued to yell at me “SMALL OR LARGE.” It took me a second to think as I was deciding if I wanted to get a small or large because I also wanted a bagel. She yelled, again, “SMALL OR LARGE.” In this moment I realized she was not my mother and I was attempting to patron her work place and that she was going to continue yelling at me, I decided to leave. SHE CONTINUED TO YELL “SMALL OR LARGE” A ME WHILE I LEFT!!! I will never, ever, ever come back. I just wanted some soup and a bagel, dude.

My wife and I visited for the first time this past weekend. The sandwiches and banana/honey bread we ordered were amazing. Highly recommend!

Crazy prices, No lunch meat is worth $26 a pound.

I wanted to really like this place, however, my entire experience there was very sub-par. I was the only one in there with two people taking their sweet time. It took 20 minutes to get my lox and bagels sandwich as they were filling other orders while they were making my sandwich which should have taken far less time. The portions on the sandwich for how much I paid were also laughable. Barely any cream cheese or lox on there with more dill on it than anything.

Your best bet for going to a proper Jewish Deli in the city is still going to be Manny's with Steingold's off Southport coming in at a close second.

Helfeld’s is arguably one of the best Jewish Deli’s in Chicago. They have simple menu with a lot of deli classics that they are experts at making.

My go to here is the Pastrami & Corned Beef combo. It comes absolutely loaded on rye with some mustard. Again, simple, but perfectly executed. The owners are also great, super friendly and always willing to give you a recommendation if you can’t decide what type of sandwich you want.

Definitely worth a stop in if you’re looking for a great sandwich in Chicago!

Wasn’t great. Lox and bagels is our favorite Sunday breakfast and this place was very mediocre. Wouldn’t go back since there are much better places to get lox and bagels in the area.
