This mom-and-pop Greek bakery has been a local gem since 1969. They serve up some truly amazing and authentic Greek pastries. The spinach pie and baklava were both outstanding and surprisingly affordable. The interior is simple and unpretentious but the love and soul poured into their craft shine through in every bite. Places with this kind of uniquely nostalgic charm are quite rare to come by these days.
Always loved their Greek pastries, they are the best, started going to them 60 yrs ago with my mom and dad. We were always going to Hellas for our parties baptisms and weddings. All our holiday needs were easily available for us. Unfortunately, we moved out to Poplar Grove, Illinois near Belvedere and have missed them greatly. Always love them and it brings a tears to my eyes, that they are still around. God bless them. My parents knew the owners personally.
Please go here. Last of its kind. Owner behind the counter super kind. please please go here. We have to support places like this.

I crave the spinach pies and the honey cookies! I’ve brought a variety of cookies from here to parties and they go over really well. The owners/bakers are friendly, too!

I always buy their almond and lemon-related pastries. Quality is consistently great. They really care about their pastries and run a great operation. You can get coffee here, too. Due to the location and signage, it can be easy to miss. This place deserves more traffic and is without question punching above its weight. I will be very sad at whatever point the couple retires and they close shop.

Why did I wait so long to try this Lawrence Avenue place out???
Phenomenal. Top tier. Made by skilled people from Southern Greece.
Ate the chocolate baklava roll right there which was fairly priced for the high quality and substantial quantity I got. They have cute little counter seats by the window. And then after being offered a sampling of a delicious sweet bread I was absolutely hooked and got a dozen powdered almond cookies for the gathering I was going to. The best cookies of this type that I've ever had. The kind owners even threw in a gluten free almond paste cookie with a raspberry middle for my GF friend (they do have some gluten free and vegan selections). Had a nice conversation with the chill owners and left with my treasures snuggled in a pretty box. The treats were devoured by all at the gathering. Everybody loved it and I mean loved it.
This bakeshop has been in business for 35 years. They deserve our support. I will most definitely be back for more. I especially want to try a spinach and cheese pie next.

What a gem of a pastry shop. Genuine, run by a lovely couple who put their hearts into their products. Spinach pies are phenomenal, as are their cookies and seasonal items like the sweet holiday breads. May the owners and their patrons remain in great health and fortune for 100 years!

Delightful local bakery and neighborhood staple. Baklava is incredible and the almond apricot cookies also need a shout out. Desserts are made in house and the owner is more than happy to give recommendations. Welcoming and delicious!
