Great place for a business meal with 8 people. Katie upstairs was perfect.

I went to HIDE + SEEK with a friend after work on a Thursday night. Its prime location in West Loop made it easy for the both of us to meet. We were greeted kindly and seated immediately to get settled with menus to look over. The service was kind and answered any questions we had. We both did not want to have alcohol so the staff kindly made us a non-alcoholic raspberry ginger bear mocktail adorned with a cute flower! We ordered the Burrata, French Onion Bread, Caramelle Pasta, Scallops, and the Profiteroles for dessert. My favorites of what we ordered were the Burrata and the Caramelle pasta! The wine poached pears paired well with the Burrata and the Caramelle pasta was so buttery and cohesive with flavor! We really had a lovely time here.

Unfortunately we had a terrible recent experience at this place on Sunday April 7th. We went for brunch at 1:45 for our reservation and were seated right away and ordered our food and drinks that took over an hour to get to our table. People seated after us were served before us and we asked the server multiple times were are drinks were and then the food. The server said that our steak takes longer to cook however, we ordered medium rare steaks with our eggs and it does not take that long to cook, especially when the table next to us also ordered steak and eggs and was served before us somehow? Another person in our group also ordered the French toast and that came last after everyone else was already served and waiting for her. Again breakfast food should not take this long especially when there was absolutely nothing special about it and the place was NOT busy and half empty. Once we did finally receive our food, it was the nastiest most bland breakfast food we’ve ever had and overpriced on top of it all! The steak was wayyy over cooked and dry, under seasoned and the hashbrown and eggs didn’t even have salt on them or any other seasonings or sauces available. Breakfast food really is not that hard to mess up, yet this place did and we’re pretty sure the waiter also forgot to put our order in from the beginning. He was also unapologetic and didn’t even say thank you or goodbye or anything as we were leaving. We were visibly upset and would have asked to speak to a manger had we not been on a time crunch. I would not recommend this place to anyone and suggest spending your money elsewhere. The decor is decent here but that’s about the only good thing. This place will not survive in the West Loop, where there are so many other better bars and restaurants to go to instead. I would believe that this place closes entirely by the end of the year to be completely honest. It’s sad but a better place can easily replace them and again, go literally anywhere else within walking distance from Hide+Seek and you’ll be fine.

Latinos Beware! Table across from us got upset we were talking Spanish. Two girls were African American and were whispering we were “only talking Spanish”. Waiter Darian said we were being “too loud” and we politely asked to be moved so we can move from their table and he asked why? I said because the table next to us is being racist and he said no you guys were being loud. We moved table and complained to manager who was very accommodating. Point is they were upset we were speaking Spanish and having a good time. Darian is not a good server horrible energy and not a good time as a waiter. Joseph is amazing who was our next waiter.

I would love to see the footage of their "server" pushing me out of the way to cut me in line for the bathroom that somehow got me kicked out. They claimed I pushed her and that they had "footage" that they refused to show me of me pushing her apparently. If she actually is a server (clearly with friends and dressed for the bar) isn't it completely inappropriate for her to push a guest out of the way even while "off duty?" When I asked for the bouncers names and to see the footage they threatened to call the cops which is hilarious. I know I sound like a Karen but this was insane and l've never been kicked out of a bar in my life (I'm 31) Imao. Also a Tito's soda is $17 that's literally the price of the entire fifth LMAO do not recommend

If you go, you MUST try the Lumache pasta ? We loved everything, but the vodka pasta was one of my favorite in the city! We dined on the 1st floor and experienced quick service. The crispy artichokes were something I’ve never tried before, and while the braised beef short rib didn’t have any unique flair, it was delicious. The ambiance is elegantly comfortable and perfect for a small group. The only downside is it’s a bit pricier, but worth it in my opinion (plus one of the best happy hours in the city)!

I went here for my b day dinner and loved it so much. I had the gnocchi lobster which was amazing best dish I’ve ever tasted. The cocktails were amazing and our server was very knowledgeable on the food and restaurant itself!! Highly recommend.

My sister and some friends went here to celebrate her birthday and the restaurant profiled them all because two of the young ladies from her group went to the restroom. They were accused of trying to leave without paying all while my little sister was still sitting at the table . I suggest if you are a person of color do not go to this establishment.

We had an incredibly disappointing experience at Hide + Seek yesterday evening. Walked in hoping for a quick expresso Martini, only to be met with mistreatment by the hostess. Despite empty bar seating, she insisted we wait for open seats/reservations. When we pointed out inconsistencies, such as others wearing baseball caps, she responded confused and without consideration. We left feeling disrespected and will never return. Terrible service and lack of professionalism. Avoid this place at all costs, especially African Americans.

The manager asked us to leave our table and have our desert at the bar because there was people waiting for a table. We where still having our dinner and drinks. Extremely rude! Plus food and drinks are overpriced.
