Honest Abe's Sandwiches

I found myself in Lincoln Nebraska at the end of a long day recently. I was parked on the side of the street and looked around to see where I could eat before a 3 hour drive to my next destination when I saw Honest Abe's burgers just across the street from where I was parked. Of COURSE I had to go try it and I was not disappointed. My burger and fries were fresh and delicious and the ladies working there were friendly. The signs, artwork, and general decor were fun - especially to me!

Ordered burgers medium rare, came out well done. Apps took a half hour, food came out really quick. Had to walk to server many times to get help. Sent ham and cheese sandwich back. Ham was the cheapest, fattest deli ham you can get at the grocery store. Spongy and just couldn’t eat. Fried egg on the burger was overcooked on the outside but runny white on the inside.

Not worth the money. Definitely won’t be back again.

Came here for the first time and it was everything I hoped for! Authentic ingredients, super delicious. Freshly prepared upon ordering. I got the United States burger and Parmesan fries followed by an extra chocolate shake. And the guy working the counter was the best! Soooo kind and he gave really good recommendations too!

Stay away.

My wife and I were wandering around downtown Lincoln looking for a restaurant. We really wanted a good salad. Even though Abe's is a gourmet burger place, their salads are excellent. I will try a burger next time. Their staff was very friendly,

Went here for lunch on Memorial Day, I got the Fireside burger and fries, others in the group got veggie burgers, all 5 of us enjoyed our choices and the truffle fries are excellent as other reviewers have said.

Stopped by here during our trip from Chicago to Wyoming. Weren’t expecting much, but the burgers were beyond all our expectations. Juicy, right ingredients & prompt service. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Parmesan truffle fries are a must.

We were on a drive across the country and stopped in Lincoln for the night. We were craving burgers and looked this place up. We had gotten a far lesser (and more expensive) meal the night before in a different state; this meal more than made up for that one. The burgers were juicy and delicious to be sure, but the truffle fries: oh baby. Those things are the reason I've kept this tab open on my phone for the past half a year. I was licking the to-go container I got them in and would go back just to lick another one. I get truffle fries anywhere I see them thanks to this place. Anyway, 5/5 would recommend if you're ever in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Walked into empty place for an order to go, was told to put my mask on. As my disability prevents this for extended time for a product that does not work, I ask them to train me on mask usage. They trained me and as I explained they are now liable for any health issues I have from here on, they told me to leave! They will not serve disabled there, they do not tolerate disabilities. They do not care and it is not a free place, the name is a lie. I also witnessed 2 individuals working there wearing cloth masks that do not cover all Covid escape channels. This means they put you at risk every time they are near you. If they have Covid, they could be spreading it to none mask wearing people as they did not follow distancing guidelines either. Both employees stood next to one another as they belittled me.

We recently moved within a mile of an Honest Abe’s location and have found it the perfect stop for lunch or dinner after a ride on the nearby bike trail, or a walk from home. Call in an order, or place it online to get the regular selection of yummy burgers or choose from the selection of rotating types. The 1809 with Apple and bacon and cheese is delish! ( Abe was born in 1809.) True burger heaven. The seasonal or rotating choices include combinations that make you look twice at the list, but go together for juicy, tangy burger greatness. Would Honest Abe steer you wrong? Oh, and try the fries! Freedom fries or the Truffle fries— big portions and sooo goood.

This place has some of the best burgers we have ever had. They don't stuff as many toppings as possible in a gigantic burger, instead, they find the best quality food and put it together to make an amazing burger. The decor is super fun and the staff is always friendly.

From my foodie son: I just finished eating the Nero. Smoked Bacon, and BBQ sauce makes an excellent combination with the sweetness and saltiness of the peanut butter. The siraccha is completely canceled out and only gives a kick.

Amazing service, friendly people and top notch food. Wholesome and flavorful burgers! The patio is private and inviting, too! A++ on the dipper sauce!
