Amazing breakfast spot that was a random find while in the area. Great service and really cute atmosphere. Kids meals are free with adult purchase & the portions of my son’s teddy bear pancakes were huge! Actually portions of everything is huge. The churro French toast was incredibly delicious and included as a side to my omelette…small upcharge well worth it!! If ever in the area again it will be a must to to revisit!

I love this place!!! I highly recommend it, I don’t mind driving 40mins to this restaurant on the weekend, because the customer service is amazing, everything is looks and taste so good , you get so much food for your money, and they not knocking you over the head to eat good it’s very affordable, the chefs are very accommodating when it comes to your performance of food, you don’t need a reservation and what ever waiting time you are told, its exactly the time you will be seated !

Great sweet dishes but the savory items were extremely heavy to a point of not being edible that I had to send back. I wasn't expecting healthy food but the amount of fat used in their dishes was out there.

Let me tell you, this was the best brunch ive had in a long time. I'm in town from Florida visiting family & decided to eat at a local restaurant. We walked in the freezing cold to be welcomed by a friendly staff. I ordered the Biscuits & Chorizo gravy & my partner ordered biscuits & Gravy. DELICIOUS! The loose leaf hot tea was also delicious. 5 stars from me!

The waitress was amazing! The Coconut Frenzy tea was sooo delicious 😋 and the Shrimp and Cheese Grits were like eating my aunt's who is from Alabama. The Churro French Toast was to die for.

Honey Bear Cafe is located on the north side of Chicago in the Rogers Park neighborhood. My old stomping grounds. I’m currently a south-sider, but I didn’t mind making the trip for some deliciousness. Honey Bear Cafe has been on my brunch foodie list for a while.

We stopped by on a Tuesday morning, which turned out to be a perfect choice since there was plenty of metered street parking available. Our reservation was for 10 a.m., and even though the restaurant was bustling with activity when we arrived, we were seated at our table right away. To top it off, our hostess warmly greeted us with a sweet treat—strawberry cheesecake bites. What a delicious start to our visit!

We came for the Southern-Cajun breakfast specialties, but I couldn’t resist starting with a refreshing glass of freshly squeezed blood orange juice.

Once our orders were taken, our food arrived surprisingly quickly—especially considering the dishes we ordered. Of course, everything was absolutely delicious! The portion sizes were generous, too, so I even had leftovers to enjoy the next day. I had the Cajun fried catfish over cheddar and jalapeño grits with bacon, mushrooms, and a Cajun cream sauce. My husband had the chorizo and andouille sausage omelette plus french toast.

The vibe at Honey Bear Cafe is great – very warming and welcoming. It’s great for groups, dates and business meetings. The menu is very expansive. I can’t wait to come back again.
