First time at Hubbard Inn at the airport.

Van gogh art work is a very nice touch.

Decent experience, okay good. A few observations - the bar area is very understaffed. The bartenders there tried their best to serve everyone well - but it was way too much for 2 people to manage.

I had the blackened season salad - lettuce was a bit whithered, salmon was in my opinion, burnt - not blackened.

Food quality was not so great.

Location and set up is very convenient - liked the charging stations as well - super convenient.

Writing a review because the customer service was amazing. The bartender was super sweet with us and very welcoming. Regarding food, the avocado toast was nothing special, quite pricey. The coffee could be much better.

It was busy so I'll give them that, but the bartender snapped that I had to order food or a drink not even a minute after sitting down and while trying to bring their digital menu up on my phone. When I told her that I was bringing up the menu, she just said I had to order something to sit there again while rolling her eyes and then walking off. I ended up just leaving after that interaction and grabbing something at the Dunkin farther down.

Our flight was delayed by 3.5 hours. The bartender was amazing and we loved her. The closing staff however took our trash about 30 mins before we left, we said thank you! We got one more drink before closing and left our empty cups on the table. The closing staff proceeded to flags us down sarcastically and rudely; “excuse me! The trash can is located right over here!”

I went back and took the trash to the trash can, shocked, and apologized for assuming that they would collect it for us again, since they just did 30 minutes ago. Wild to me when paying $15 for a 16oz domestic beer and tipping over 20%.

Solid for drink at the airport. Drinks and food prices are very expensive. Food is average at best. Nothing to write home about. Service is decent though. Probably the best part about this spot!

The staff here are lazy and rude, plain and simple. I sat down, ordered a burger, and specifically asked how long it would take. They told me 15 to 20 minutes, so I placed my order and waited. A few minutes later, another customer sat down next to me, placed their order, and got attitude from the waitress, who immediately made them pay upfront. This raised a red flag, as I hadn’t been asked to pay immediately.

I checked in with the waitress, asking how much longer my order would take, and she responded as if I hadn't even ordered. It was clear she never put my order in. Did she really think I just wanted to sit at the bar for 10 minutes without food or a drink?

Tired of the usual, overcooked fast food burgers like you'd find at most other restaurants in the concourse, I requested my burger be cooked "rare", in the hopes I'd at least get a medium-rare, perhaps a medium at worst.

Got a burger that could've generously been described as "medium well", and a little less generously as "well, at least it's not burnt to a crisp".

Server was not rude, but didn’t seem to care if I was there. Chicken fingers were good. Shrimp tacos were terrible! Undercooked!

Paid $25 for a drink and it was disgusting! Asked to return and get another drink and “the manager” said they don’t do that! I’ve never in my history of bartending told someone they can’t have their money or another option! Horrible for $25 drink that was supposed to be a simple cosmo! Southwest terminal Chicago Airport. NEVER HAD SUCH HORRIBLE EXPERINCE WITH A MANAGER! And what bar won’t remake your drink????

Hubbard Inn: A Disappointing Airport Experience

I recently had the misfortune of dining at Hubbard Inn in the Chicago airport. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of awful. The chili, which I had been looking forward to, was absolutely disgusting. It was so bad that I could only manage one bite before throwing it away.

To make matters worse, the customer service from the kitchen staff was incredibly rude. It was clear that they didn't care about their customers or the quality of their food. I would strongly advise anyone traveling through Chicago to avoid this place at all costs. There are countless other options in the airport that offer much better food and service.

Surrounded by dozens of drinkers at 10 in the morning.

Stopped in to grab a bite to eat for breakfast on a layover, choosing to take a seat at the bar area. I was told the bar area is only for those who plan to drink booze, and I was not one of them, but I was allowed to stay since it wasn't that busy.

Ended up ordering the berry pancakes with a glass of water, as they do not serve coffee here. Total only came to a little over $22.

The pancakes were pretty tasty, came with butter syrup and blueberries. And while I did need to ask for them, they also come with your choice of bacon or sausage. Guess they updated the menu recently and the choice of meat use to be extra, but not any more.

Service was pretty quick and friendly, made for a nice time to pass a layover that extended an extra hour.

I sat at the bar at Hubbard Inn, and had a lovely meal thanks in large part to Deidre! She was a gem: kind, funny, and so gracious. She left this stressed-out traveler smiling!

Do not patronize this racist establishment-Hubbard Inn. We just came in from a flight from San Juan, and wanted to find a place to eat and have a cocktails at the bar in Midway Airport. When we sat down, we were initially rudely told by Jessica we had to purchase something from the bar. Well duh! We were already planning to do so. Her energy and attitude was off from the beginning so I should’ve known there would soon be a problem. She asked to see our IDs and we proceeded to order red wine. The transaction was completed, wine was served and we proceeded to eat food that we had purchased prior to sitting at the bar. About 5 minutes passed and a Caucasian woman with black hair and strip of grey/silver hair in the middle ( I didn’t get her name) came up and rudely told us that we can’t eat outside food at the bar and we needed to move. We attempted to explain to her what was communicated by Jessica and that we did exactly what was asked of us, so she should be addressing Jessica, not us. Jessica stood right there and didn’t say one word even though she told us that as long as we patronized the bar, we could sit there. That was such coward behavior. The silver fox lady continues to ask us to move and we continued to explain that as long as we purchased from the bar, we were fine. We stated that we had just gotten off a long flight and we were simply trying to enjoy some wine and food while we had a layover. Her response was, “Good for you. I don’t care.” The audacity of this racist woman. She attempted to shake my partners hand shortly after and he declined. Obviously she was embarrassed and upset and then proceeded to call security and/ or her manager. The manager Tycee came over and we explained exactly what happened and what we were told before making a purchase. He stated that we were fine to continue sitting there, just not engage with his rude and racist waitresses, which we agreed. A few minutes later, the Chicago PD shows up, and states that they were called because were being “belligerent”. They state they weren’t here to witness however. Of course they didn’t witness how rude these two women were initially, but because their white, they are automatically right huh? Ultimately we were asked to move. Tycee reported that he did not know that the police were called. At that point, he should’ve spoken up for us and told them that he said that we could continue sitting there, but of course that didn’t happen. We asked for a refund for the purchase we made. If we are asked to leave then our money was going with us. As the refund is being processed, I hear Jessica speaking about us to Tycee, using expletives as well like we couldn’t hear her, which was very unprofessional. That should’ve been addressed immediately, which I did not witness. I shared with Tycee my feelings regarding the situation and his the behavior of his employees. This whole interaction was a complete disgrace, one that could’ve been avoided had there been compassion from people who work in the customer service industry. The fact that they called the police after we responded to their rude behavior is absurd to me. There’s a huge issue with black people and police all across the United States and this situation continued to perpetuate that stereotype. The reviews for this establishment are low for a reason. This company needs to look into how this establishment is ran and needs to seriously retrain their employees. I’m disappointed and disgusted with my experience here and will never patronize this place again. I will also be reaching out to the corporate office first thing in the morning to file a complaint. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A NIGHTMARE AND YOU RUN THE RISK OF BEING RADIALLY PROFILED.
