Had an amazing brunch at Ila’s with friends, cocktails and food were fantastic. It’s very clear that the staff and ownership really want to provide the best experience for their guests. Ila’s is a real diamond in a neighborhood of cubic zirconias.

Had a great experience at Ila’s. The food is creative but approachable, with lots of shareable dishes. The birria lamb pierogies and sweet corn agnolotti were highlights, and the kalbi short rib was so tender. Cocktails were just as good as the food. Beautiful space and friendly service, I would absolutely go back!

This place is awesome! Definitely needed to liven up and change the River North vibe. The staff is excellent and the food is really good! We have a lovely time celebrating my mom's birthday and felt extremely welcomes and valued.

We stopped in for brunch and had a wonderful meal! The staff was attentive and friendly, and the food had phenomenal flavor. We truly felt at home and even had the pleasure of the owner coming and telling us directly about the food and the concept of honoring his mom through the restaurant. This place cannot be missed!

The night's soothing breeze flows hither
We doted the diamond strewn sky without end
We traversed to Ila's, named after the owner's mother
To feast a special meal for a special friend

Oh blessings to the cooks, we pray
Like their Agnolotti and Lumpia blessed our day
Our waiter Matthew deserves all the praise
His service deserves its own dais

ILA'S new veggie burger is the best veggie burger I have ever eaten. Paneer bites are a
must try. Hats off to chef!

Some of the BEST pasta dishes I’ve ever had in Chicago. In reality prob anywhere

The food is absolutely to die for. But, just as much if not more so… the service is TOP top notch

Everyone from the hostesses, to the waiters, the bartenders, and the owner himself. One of (if not the only) restaurant of this class in downtown Chicago where the owner is regularly walking around making people feel welcomed

Heartwarming story too. The restaurant is named after his mom (Ila) who came here from India a few decades ago, with the owner being first generation

Highly recommend

Great food, cozy but lively ambiance, and warm service. The food and drinks have such unique flavors. Highlights for me included the ube pisco sour, empanadas, and pistachio cake!

Amazing restaurant with excellent customer service. The executive shop visited our table and gave amazing reservations with the server. We tried everything recommended and had a wonderful experience. Can’t wait to go again.

We went on a quiet Sunday evening loved the vibe and overall decor gave the spot that upscale River North feel without being overwhelming.

Didn’t realize Ila was Indian-owned until we got there. The cultural photos at the entrance and the overall warmth of the space make it feel personal and intentional. Being an Indian myself this added a special touch.

Must order: the bread plate. The yuzu butter, goat feta, and especially the hot & spicy jam were standout. We also had the grilled scallops -solid starter.
The biggest surprise of the night was the sweet corn pasta (recommended by the owner). I would never normally order this, but it ended up being the best dish we had. Slightly sweet with a subtle Indian fusion twist — very unique and memorable.
Paneer kebab was well done, and the steak frites special menu was flavorful, though I wish the steak portion was slightly bigger.

Service was excellent -Daniela was attentive and knowledgeable.

Dessert pistachio cake was good, though not as strong as the savory dishes.

Overall, great atmosphere, thoughtful fusion menu, and warm hospitality. Definitely coming back to see how the menu evolves.

Cozy (and warm on a February day!) place with gorgeous decor (open brick walls and ceiling with lots of warm woods and velvet chairs). Very attentive service. But the real standout is the fantastic food! If you look at the menu and think - “wow what a combo of flavors” - trust that it will “fuse” together in a really wonderful and impressive way! Truly global fusion / the bread plate is fantastic and the sweet corn agnoletti is just, wow. We will be back!
