A real nice bakery with a full range of pastries, treats, and other baked goods and foods to purchase at your own leisure.
I’ve been going to this place for close to a decade now, which is a little surreal, but their sub sandwiches are a common comfort that I like to indulge in. Personal sandwich recommendations of the Italian/Spicy Italian and the Turkey (although I don’t get mayonnaise on it). What more could you ask for in a quaint little shop like this?

The cashiers there were rude to me and my baby and made me wait about a half hour for a cup of coffee. Never coming back here and wasting my money. If you hate children don't work in customer service. If you can't help open a door for someone or swipe a card for someone who can't bring their stroller in, don't work in customer service.

A gem of Bridgeport!! Lovely bakery that has so many options! cookies, donuts, pie, breads, coffee (iced or hot), cappuccino, hot chocolate, pies, cakes, etc!In the back, they make more lunch foods: soups, meatball sandwiches, sausages, other sandwiches, and so much more! This family bakery has been around for 74 years and counting!
Parking: free parking on Wallace or cross street (30th street) but note the school hours

I love everything they have! I haven't tried their sandwiches yet but, I've heard good things. The biscotti are awesome! The bacon and sausage infused bread is just incredible! The only thing that would make this place better is if they had some kind of delivery service!

Worked here for about three months. The pastries are delicious. I'd recommend getting the almond crescent pastry which you can't really find elsewhere (Firecake Donuts has AMAZING chocolate donuts). Everything else you can find a duplicate of elsewhere that is either the same or better in quality. While working there, I also noticed some sanitary issues with regards to the freshness of some items.I was debating about writing this review for several reasons, but decided it's best to be honest. While I enjoyed working here for the most part, I found it extremely difficult to work through the bad working conditions. Notably, my boss was often rude and made inappropriate comments toward me and my coworker. (He told her she looks like a clown once bc she had some black streaks on her face that he thought was mascara). She's wonderful and honestly deserves a raise for how much effort and time she invests there. The owner of the shop inherited it from his father. He is surly and gruff at times. Whether it's the stress from running a local business or growing old, I don't know. I empathize but I also hope he learns to treat his employees with respect. Low income workers deserve respect and to be treated with dignity. They are crucial in keeping businesses running. It's a shame, really, when employers take their employees for granted. That is ultimately why I don't plan to return to work there despite having met many amazing locals and enjoyed all other aspects of working there.

I've been coming to this bakery for years! My parents introduced it to me as a kid and used to go there when they were younger. It's the best place to get donuts and pastries. My favorites are the dozen mixed donuts and cannoli's. Their cheesecakes are amazing too! The owner is so sweet and very friendly. I always travel from Foster/Broadway to here for my sweet bread with my coffee. I highly recommend their donuts!!
