I love an old school Chicago Bakery. You know that feeling when you visit your favorite relative? That’s what it’s like at Impallaria Bakery. You will be greeted with a warm hello and smile when entering. Still family run, they have the best coffee cakes, danishes and donuts this side of the city. You know it’s good when kids stop by on the way to school to grab a donut in the morning. The butter cookies are literally 99%butter and 1% flour and eggs. Don’t hesitate...

I’ve been going to this place for close to a decade now, which is a little surreal, but their sub sandwiches are a common comfort that I like to indulge in. Personal sandwich recommendations of the Italian/Spicy Italian and the Turkey (although I don’t get mayonnaise on it). What more could you ask for in a quaint little shop like this?
