Average food and poor service. The wait staff was not very friendly or welcoming, and we felt a bit rushed while eating there. Waitress removed one of the plates before one of us finished it. Would not recommend dining in.

Inon Thai is the real deal!
Authentic flavors, generous portions, and super friendly service. Every dish tastes like it’s straight from Thailand. Definitely one of my go-to spots.

The flavor is good but a bit too sweet and the protein was off to me. Ordered the seafood curry and the fish was hard.

Will never come here again!!! The lady was soooooooo rude and mean to us! I was in shock!!! We tried to come in, she walked to the door and ask “you want to eat here? How many” than told us “you will sit here and no where else. Have a seat.” Then she throw the menus on the table. When she throw the menus on the table my friend literally shared a tear and said “ we still dealing with racism in 2025.” We were heartbroken. We walked out right away. Please do not eat here at all! We should not support those that don’t respect us ALL in our neighborhood!!! We all lived here in this neighborhood for 30 years.

The freshest and tastiest Thai food on the north side! Their Tom Yum, Pad Se Ew, Thai basil, curry dishes…ALL of it! You can’t go wrong. Oh and they have a spicy jicama salad served with a fried fish, AMAZING!

Food is good for sure, but the lady working behind the counter and serving (if you can call it that) was downright awful. She rudely asked what I wanted when I walked in, gave this nasty glare every time she came to the table. And then threw the check down on the table when I wasn’t even half way done with my food. I agree with the other reviews go somewhere else, you shouldn’t be treated like this. This lady needs a class in basic hospitality or to not work with the public if this is how she treats customers

Lady behind the counter WAS rude so the comments are true but I think that’s just how she is(not that it’s ok) I called and asked for pananag curry she said “what meat you want?” I said “what meat do you have?” She said “WhAt mEaT YOU WanT?” .I said “chicken”So I said chicken. I went in and no “hi” or “ how are you ?” Just right away “23.50! HOW YOU PAY?” I said Apple Pay she said “23.50 don’t forgot tip okay?” Obviously I didn’t tip but chicken parang curry was good . Crab Rangoon was skimpy .

We ordered take out and picked up less than an hour. Very good Panang curry and papaya salad! We loved how spicy the papaya salad is! And the Panang curry was very flavorful! The pad see ew was chewy and delicious ! I strongly recommend Panang curry! And pad see ew. However the only thing is the green curry was somehow a little bit salty and lack of spice

If you're looking for an incredible Thai dining experience in Chicago, look no further! We had the most delicious meal today, and every dish was a standout.
We started with the chicken satay, which was perfectly grilled and paired with the most authentic, flavorful peanut sauce. You could tell it was made with care. Next, we had the shrimp pad thai, and I can confidently say it’s the best in Chicago—hands down. The balance of flavors was spot on, and the noodles had just the right texture.
But the real star of the night? The green curry. Absolutely outstanding! The depth of flavor was unmatched, and you could immediately tell the curry paste was freshly ground—not store-bought. It had the perfect harmony of spice, creaminess, and aroma that left us wanting more.
We can’t wait to come back and try more dishes. Highly recommend

Been here many times. Racist lady. Serves Asians, rushes non-asians, doesn't say thank you, sometimes doesn't even let you in. Will tell you that they are closing soon and want you to leave but will seat asians. Other than that, the best Thai food i've ever had and I've had quite a bit.

In-On Thai is truly the hidden gem of Chicago's Thai food scene. This family-run establishment offers the most authentic Bangkok-style cuisine I've experienced outside of Thailand. The husband-and-wife team who run the place are incredibly warm and attentive, often stopping by tables to chat and make recommendations.
Their Panang curry is legendary and their green curry might be the best in the city. The pad see ew has perfect wok hei flavor, and their crispy fish with jungle salad is a unique must-try. Don't skip crab wontons and papaya salad as starters - they're exceptional. Everything is made from scratch, and you can taste the freshness and care in every dish.
The restaurant itself is small and cozy with a cute ambiance. It's BYOB (conveniently, there's a liquor store next door), and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. The food comes out surprisingly fast, and portions are generous.
What sets In-On Thai apart is not just the food but the consistency - I've never had a disappointing meal here. Whether dining in or taking out, the quality remains top-notch. Just remember to buzz in when you arrive!
-Try the dishes at Thai spicy level if you're brave
-Don't miss their homemade peanut sauce
-Parking available, but watch out for pigeons under the L tracks!
Without a doubt, this is some of the best Thai food in Chicago. Five stars aren't enough!
Vegetarian options: In-On Thai offers excellent vegetarian options with many dishes that can be made with tofu instead of meat. Their crispy tofu with curry sauce is outstanding, and the deep-fried tofu appetizer is perfectly crispy outside and silky inside. The tofu Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are delicious vegetarian alternatives to the classic dishes. Their green and Massaman curries can be ordered vegetarian-style with tofu and extra vegetables, including authentic Thai eggplant. The papaya salad (som tum) is a fresh, vibrant vegetarian option, and they're always accommodating with customizing dishes to be vegetarian-friendly. The kitchen is happy to adjust spice levels to your preference, and the homemade peanut sauce pairs wonderfully with their vegetarian dishes.
