Horrible service! Everyone seemed to hate their job! Only people that were friendly were the hostess and the lady handing out free samples. Also, couldn’t even take home my leftovers. What a waste of food! Don’t bother going here for “New Orleans style food”. No southern hospitality here!

I used to love this place, but it seems to be falling apart. I always go for Halloween, and we were told that the reservations were full but could sit outside. Okay no problem—except they sat us at the very end table, where we were clearly forgotten about. Drinks took forever to come out and were not drinkable, they tasted so bad. Our waitress never came out again after the drinks. We were served our food by someone else. When it came time for the check, we had to go inside and get someone to help us.

All the while, we watched as half the tables remained empty, though the staff was running around like crazy. Not sure what is going on, if they need more staff or what, but we were very disappointed.

Starting of course the service was great , all staff were nice and helpful. Atmosphere is nice depends on the music and or the band. Now let’s get to the food. I am a fried chicken enthusiast and maybe I had a lot of expectations since it’s a southern restaurant. The chicken in my fried chicken was unseasoned just literally raw cooked chicken that haven’t been marinated or anything , and then breaded lightly and the breading is not great. The chicken tenders are a bit better but same remark that the seasoning is not great, Deviled eggs were just fine and the fried thing whatever in the pic was good , but overall the drinks were great the food unfortunately not, I hope to return and have a better experience, good luck I would say

My friend and I went on a Fri night. The place is small so I expected it to be a little crowded. When we got there we were told they were only accepting reservations at the time because they were fully booked. Which is understandable. The host offered us outside sitting which was a no for me because there were no heaters. So, eventually we got seats at the bar. I would like to point out we were there for about 1.5 hrs and at least 3 high tops and 1 table in the back by the band stayed empty for a hr. So much for those reservations. It's Halloween time so they have themed drinks, live music, and specials. My friend had the hurricane and witches brew and she said they did not skip on the alcohol, both are recommended. The fried catfish Po boy was seasoned well. The gumbo had great flavor. The crab cakes actually taste fresh without the fishy taste. The mac and cheese was ok. It was missing something. Red beans and rice were surprisingly flavorful. Highly recommend the crab and artichoke dip. Just in case you have to use the restroom, unfortunately you do have to walk down a flight of stairs to get to it.

I went to Ina Mae with friends for a night out. Unfortunately it was a really disappointing experience. The bar was busy so I had no problem waiting about 30 minutes to be served. When it was time to pay, I realized the bartender had given me the dine in slip instead of the receipt. I asked the other bartender if it was possible to get the receipt so I could pay my bill. A really normal experience. About 5 minutes later the GM asked to talk to me outside saying how disrespectful I was the bartender. I tried to explain how there must be a mistake as I was super patient and happily tipped 20%. He was very hostile and unwilling to listen. He was also very rude to my friends for coming outside with me when they were also just as confused as I was. While I think it’s wonderful he wanted to support his staff, it got to the point where his intention was to humiliate me in front of a line of people waiting to go inside. Needless to say I won’t be going back. I hope the GM recognizes his wrongdoing.

The drinks were good. The place was well decorated. Service was awful even when the place was relatively empty. Our waiter just kept disappearing. It got to the point that we started grabbing other people's waiters and the host to get stuff, like utensils.

The food was the biggest disappointment. The kid's mac n cheese was the best part of the meal. The catfish po boy was cooked well but lacked seasoning. The cajun pasta was so salty that me and my friend both ended up throwing most of it away. It was also surprising greasy. I was really looking forward to going there. Sadly, I won't be back. 😞

Oh, I almost forgot the icing on the cake! When it came time to pay the check, the waiter who couldn't be found got impatient with us that we hadn't paid the check yet when he came back to collect it, so he picked up the clipboard and loudly tapped it on the table to get our attention, then stormed off.

Kid-friendliness: The kid's meal was the best thing we ate there.

Southern food in a new Orleans themed space. Nice rotating seasonal cocktail menu and the food overall is good.

Menu covers a nice spread and prices are fairly reasonable for the city.

It may have been a bit of an off night when we went, but our server was pulled in a few too many directions and it was hard to flag them down. They were very nice others.

Some of that ‘Nawlin’s culture here in the city. There have been other iterations throughout the decades but this is hands down the most authentic (where else can you get yakamein in Chicago? Nowhere I tell you!). Everything is flavorful and a party in your mouth. Drinks are on point, especially the NOLA favorite, the Hurricane that will literally kick yo ass. Go for the fried chicken and seafood tower, both crown jewels.
