Went in this morning to buy some beans and the barista offered us a free sample of the type of coffee we were considering since they had it on filter. She also answered all of our questions thoughtfully.
I absolutely love Intelligentsia Coffee, and have been patronizing this location since it opened, and I am so sick of the attitude from the staff at this location. One group is cordial and welcoming and the other literally treat you like an inconvenience. I typically order online, and I always tip, always. Today, when I came into the location to pick up my order, the barista and the person checking out, literally turned away from me, and kept their back towards me, even after I said "thank you so much"! They didn't even acknowledge the fact that I walked into the room let alone the fact that I said thank you. I'm sorry that you hate your job but that isn't my problem and I don't deserve to be treated like trash for simply existing.
Great coffee ! Great alternative to your usual Starbucks
Matcha very organic and natural, the ambiance was cozy, and my banana nut bread was very good 8/10 :)
Intelligentsia introduced me to Third Wave coffee. They taught me about coffee origins and roasting. There are lots of coffee roasters and many are absolute stars. Yet, somehow, in Chicago, there is something very special about the approach and the product here. Call me a fan. 5/5 recommended
I Liked this place. Good AC. Not crowded at 1 pm. Clean bathroom. Very good whole milk latte. Note: no cash taken here.
I really want to rate it better but the past two times I've been here the customer service has been extremely poor. And there are many more options available in Wicker that have great coffee and great customer service. I won't be back for a while.
The pour over was amazingThe latte was greatThe baristas had a lot of knowledge about coffee and were very kind.
Iced latte was probably the best I've ever had. Not butter at all. I usually like flavoring and sugar in my coffee but it didn't need it at all.
I enjoyed drinking the iced matcha. If anyone is in the Wicker Park area, I definitely recommend this coffee shop since this coffee shop is a convenient location from the Division Blue Line stop.

Probably the most inconsistent coffee shop I've ever visited.Either:1) Great Coffee2) Bad / Wrong Order, etc.Today, I ordered a flat-white - idk what this is, but it's not what I ordered. I work very close, but will not be back.
Today I had the best Latte of my life. Even drinking it out of to go cup it was delicious! Brandon has perfect the art. Bravo, keep up the good work.
The egg waffles here are delicious. There are so many flavors and fillings you can choose from. My personal favorite is the regular with custard filling (how basic, I know). But the others are also worth trying. I have yet to find a combination that tastes bad. The ambiance is also nice and mellow, great for catching up with friends or doing some work.
Intelligentsia has some of the best coffee/espresso in Chicago. The staff clearly know what they're knowing and brew a great cup. They're friendly and helpful. If driving, much easier to come from the west than from the east.
I was in the mood for a green tea latte and went in for the first time. Service was quick and the quality was exactly what I was looking for. Flavorful and very lightly sweet. Great experience, will be back again!
