So delicious! We have never had Costa Rican food and was unsure what we should get. The waiter was so kind and helpful. He gave us great recommendations. The food was amazing and the lemonade was the best! When we hear someone going to Chicago, we always recommend this place!

Mostly authentic Costa-Rican food (the black beans in the chifrijo, and the aoli with the patacones, were each inauthentic) well prepared and served quickly. Note that Irazu has recently acquired a liquor license; no more BYOB, and they carry Imperial beer (in bottles) from Costa Rica along with an extensive cocktail list. We were there on a warm day in May. They are able to open the walls up for open-air dining which feels very Costa Rican. Pura Vida!

We decided to try this place with my boyfriend, as we had never had Costa Rican food and it was an outstanding choice! When we walked in, the main dining room was full, and they asked if we'd like to sit outside or in the back. We asked to sit outside, but the tables were out on the sidewalk and not a patio like we thought, so we decided against it and sat in their back room. The service was very attentive all throughout the meal, even having the bartender coming to the table to make sure we liked our drinks. The waiter refilled our chips and checked on us continuously. The food was DELICIOUS and plentiful. It was very tasty and well made. We ordered an appetizer and each a meal but I was only able to finish about half of mine and took the rest home. It reheated up nicely in the microwave. We will definitely be coming back and totally recommend it!

Incredible restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious. I tried the casado with steak, it’s probably one of the best preparations of steak I’ve had in the city. The patacones came with garlic and two different sauces, all delicious. I would highly recommend!

If you're within 100 miles of this place, GO!! Authentic food, great drinks, and the service was wonderful. Our young daughter experienced a minor medical incident while we were there, and the whole staff sprung into action to assist, and even gave us a shot! Will 100% go back

OK so I am pained to write this. This spot used to be soooo good, like best in the city. Amazing vibe, flavor, all that. But after 2-3 years of not going, I expected the same level of quality/good taste. I was VERY disappointed unfortunately, but the service saved this review tbh. Friendly, warm, and welcoming staff, but the food left much to be desired );
