I finally tried this place after being in Chicago for many years and it was worth it. The place gives a different vibe like you are somewhere in a tropical place( to some level) . There was live music, you can see the river and boats in the background. The food and drinks we ordered were good.

We went on the Wednesday night R&b cruise and it was AMAZING! A great way to see Chicago while jamming and having some delicious drinks! The workers were so sweet and bartender Q was a wholeeee vibe!!!

This place was a complete disaster from start to finish. I was served cold food, asked for a replacement, and they brought out the same cold plate like I wouldn’t notice. As you can see in my photos it went from day to night outside! Not once did anyone apologize. The staff was straight-up rude, dismissive, and wouldn’t even look me in the face while I was trying to explain the issue.
The manager told me he’d refund my $19 and would “be right back.” I waited almost 45 minutes….he never returned! I had to go find him myself, just for him to casually say the refund would take 1–2 business days. That would’ve been fine if he had actually communicated that up front, but he didn’t.
The entire experience was unprofessional and frustrating. No apology. No accountability. Just a bunch of people acting like paying customers are a burden. I work too hard to waste my money in a place like this.
Do yourself a favor and skip Island Party Hut. The stuff is absolutely DISGUSTING!.

The drinks were good but the margarita pizza was abysmal. It looks like a frozen cheese pizza with tomato slices, herbs, and onions........

Kinda an island theme but not an actual Tiki joint-- if you want that, there's Three Dots and a Dash right downtown. But the bartender was friendly and the service was quick. Cocktails weren't great. Most of the menu is not actually authentic Tiki. Come for the party vibe.

We did the R&B cruise and the best part was Q at the bar. Customer service is beyond exceptional. I wish everywhere I visited had a Q. Thank you for the great service to make this tour unforgettable for my friends and I

…living in the vicinity of this place is a nightmare. Hours of back to back obnoxiously loud music that’s echos into all the neighboring apartment buildings.
Great special events. Fun for luaus and game night! Recommend making the stop on the river walk.

The whole vibe was perfect for families. From the moment we walked in, it felt welcoming. There were beachy decorations, palm trees, and island tunes that immediately made you feel relaxed. My kids had an absolute blast – they were dancing to the music, running around with other kids, and the whole space was set up to make sure everyone was comfortable, whether you wanted to join in the fun or just sit back and enjoy.

Great spot on the riverwalk for food, drinks and games! The staff is very friendly and the live music makes it feel like a party. Right now they have their Fall Fest which was great for our big group, lots of fun photo ops. Highly recommend the smoked wings!

Island Party Hut is a can't miss destination along the riverwalk for Chicago residents and visitors. The service, drinks, and views are amazing. They have a wonderful outdoor venue with plenty of seating and games for all ages. I highly recommend you visit the next time you are in the area.
