I ordered from ubereats and this was my first time ever trying Egusi soup I was so excited and they disappointed me soooooooooo bad . The soup was clearly Burnt the burnt taste was so overpowering I couldn’t taste anything else. I just trashed it because it was horrible. Serving low quality food is insane. They have ruined my experience with trying different culture foods

Update based in reply from the store owner: I wished that I believed what your reply said but but I simply do not, look at all thr negative reviews please take it serious because it's so easy to be here today and gone tomorrow type of business but I would like to see this place thrive but not like this. You guys know damn well that young man shouldn't be taking anyone's order he isn't friendly at all and he doesn't know what he is doing.
I am extremely disappointed!! My 1st experience was good because someone who is African order for me. I got okra soup, egusi soup, fufu with 2pcs of goat meat. I really enjoyed it I paid about $25 I got a small bowl which was clear then a white bowl. Now let's talk about today experience that made me never to return to this place. Foret off the young man at the front register isn't any help at all he he doesn't know what he's doing as far as helping the customer with the dishes to choose from. I say this because the website is confusing and doesn't explain well. I am an African American woman and this resturant is in a predominantly African American neighborhood. How come it isn't simplied. For the same meal he wanted to charge me $40+ dollars ain't no way. I just got okra soup and fufu so that was $22+ which was a damn rip off. I got very little okra soup and a bunch of cow fit or what ever it is because it's just big really tough and full of gristle. I'm so disappointed there was also another male there who didn't help at all he knew we were struggling but never came to assist. I told all of my friends and family about this resturant especially since it's in the neighborhood we all grown up in for over 40+ years. I will never parronize this place again. When you show me not once but twice that you could care less to help me a paying customer then you don't deserve my hard own money. You all just lost a customer for life but also you all lost potentially 30+ customers because word of mouth is everything. I had so many people hyped to come here and after my review on social media they will not come because they trust me. I am always looking out for the greater good. I wish they respected their customers enough to know not everyone is going to African descent.

Where do i begin? I just called the restaurant to complain because how do you sell nigerian food with no spice to it. It is a nigerian restaurant for christ sakes do ya'll see mexicans, Italians or Americans modifying their menu to fit your African pallette? So why do this to nigerians patronizing your business. I placed an ubereats order. I got stewed fresh tilapia fish and it had zero pepper i was nauseous. My egusi soup was the same fully loaded with palm oil base and no spice. My friedrice combo was hard and undercooked. This was a total waste of my money and it gave me a stomach ache.

This restaurant smells really bad and the lady/server that attended to me was very rude. The fat lady gave me wrong order. The food doesn’t taste good or look good. They can do better. They can do better. You are not selling food to animals. Let the food have special taste and aroma.

I’m a Vegetarian. I called and asked if the egusi and efo soup is served with meat. The lady said only if you get a combo. If it’s just a side order it does NOT come with meat. I said great, so there will be NO MEAT if I just purchase the SIDE ORDERS. She said correct no meat unless it’s a combo.??♀️ You guys, she failed to mention the soups were cooked with meat!!! You don’t get a large portion like you would if you ordered the combo, but the soups have meat in it smh , so I had to throw it away. I then tried the Jollof rice! It was hard and tasted like burnt popcorn. I tried to give this place a chance despite all the horrible reviews and even called to clarify I can actually get the meal with no meat and it was such a horrible choice to purchase from them. $60 dollars down the drain. The reviews are correct you guys, don’t waste your money like I did ?

Customer service is horrible here (BRONZE). Ordered $40 worth of food on ubereats and it was cancelled because they didn’t want to put 2 scoops of goat sauce on my egusi soup lmao. (Mind blown). Food is tasty as far as the soup, the rice is a no go. Taste burnt. Order from here a few times but they won’t get my money anymore. The iyanze on broadway got one time to pull it and I’m not going there either.

Prices are ridiculous compared to the quantity of the food. Incompetent staff and poor communication of price increases with customers. I’m a regular customer and always tip . I love to support black businesses but I don’t even enjoy my food because I feel like I’m am unfairly charged. Quantity is not consistent. Sometimes you get more and other times way less but still charged the same.

The Ugusi soup and Iyan Fufu I ordered from Ubereats were so good that I had to stop eating to write this review. Chef kiss to the chef! It was fresh, not too spicy, and absolutely delicious.
