I want to like this place, but the bartender likes to control the jukebox like it's his personal playlist. It's not about you, it's about the customers. If you want to listen to your own music, stay home, or play it at the jukebox like everyone else. Leaving this review after 3 songs skipped.
Jake's is a good old fashioned drinking hole! We wanted to see it because my husband's parents met there in 1947! We visited just after they opened so sat at the bar and conversed with the gentleman who served us. Affordable beers and mixed drinks, pool tables and some sports memorabilia. Nothing fancy, but whenever we mentioned Jake's to someone in the Chicago area, they knew what we were talking about! This is the kind of place we thought had disappeared!
