Jake's is a good old fashioned drinking hole! We wanted to see it because my husband's parents met there in 1947! We visited just after they opened so sat at the bar and conversed with the gentleman who served us. Affordable beers and mixed drinks, pool tables and some sports memorabilia. Nothing fancy, but whenever we mentioned Jake's to someone in the Chicago area, they knew what we were talking about! This is the kind of place we thought had disappeared!

Walked in at 8p on a Friday night and the first bartender greeted us immediately and got our drinks. Then two young females took over and my husband's empty glass sat on the edge of the bar while they drank, danced, did shots and ate. One even looked at his empty glass 3 times and kept walking. I've been a bartender. I'm willing to over look a wait for drinks if it's slammed. It wasn't. No excuse for that kind of service.

I came between 5-7pm great customer service, well priced drinks, and the bartender was super friendly. They also have a pool table :) very cozy tavern I would definitely be coming back!
