Tasty cuisine, but is involved in devaluing the dollar with inflated food pricing.

Great local spot. Menu is enormous and a little quirky. Everything from hot dogs to Italian beef to gyros to elotes, plus tons of desserts. High quality and great service.

Great spot with all the Chicago classics and more. I love that I can get a Chicago dog, elote, and a horchata. Tastes great, prices are reasonable, and friendly service is fast.

Really enjoyed sitting outside on a warm day. The street is busy and people watching is fun, but will likely be asked for money.

Delicious fast food. Good beef and the fries were fresh and perfectly salted.

Creepy Decor, Food was meh and Italian beef looked like a creature from the black Logan, it stinks in there, meh and gross

I have no complaints. I love the food, delicious and affordable. Kudos to the staff who are so friendly and accommodating as well. It deserves more than a 5 star rating.

Bad service, bad attention and the staff, very bad customer service, I think that with the excellent location they have, if they improve the cleanliness of the place, improve the unpleasant smell that they have, they will improve customer service and of course improve the food, they would be a point of reference for the city

Old fashioned hot dog and broasted chicken joint. Operating under the same family owners for over 70 years, Jake’s is an Uptown institution. Best known for its colorful window graphics (ā€œOnly a rooster can get a better piece of chickenā€), it has limited seating, lots of carry out, and delivery through the usual services. Broasted chicken is its signature meal—not the usual fried chicken (made in a deep fat fryer) which you can find at any number of national chains, instead broasted chicken is fried in what looks like an oversized pressure cooker. This reduces the amount of oil absorbed by the chicken.

Jake’s also has a range of other food, including tacos, eggs, Italian beef and sausage, and cheeseburgers/hamburgers, as well as apple and other pies.

Vegetarian options: Not a lot of vegetarian options, although they will make you a salad.

Parking: No bathroom, which isn’t a big deal as it really isn’t designed as a sit down restaurant (although there are a half-dozen or so tables.

Wheelchair accessibility: Street level, no steps or other barriers.
