Brunch and the scene here is great. One of the best spots of its kind in the area. Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. The place has a nice atmosphere.

Came here for brunch and food was good!! I would avoid anything with beets next time. A bit too earthy for my liking. Spaciest place and great service!

We have really enjoyed visiting JAM when in Chicago. The menu offerings are unique and always superb. They're known for their Malted French Toast which in a half order is a great starter to share while the full order is a perfect meal. We've additionally enjoyed their savory offerings and their pancakes. Their newer location is clean, bright, and modern inside and really is inviting. On our most recent visit, we loved the food but were a bit disappointed in the service. Normally, we've had really good experiences when visiting but our server last time was pretty distracted by a friend that stopped in to visit. We were left waiting quite a bit for more water and our bill. It was our first "off" experience so it won't deter us from coming back but it is what's preventing the full five star review as we really appreciate consistency and good service. Give it a try, their diverse and modern menu will leave you wanting more!

Food is good, but service could be better.

I live across the street from Jam and I've only been in a handful of times. I find the food to be pretty underwhelming especially considering the price point. They have only one item which can be made vegan - the avocado toast which is pretty mediocre and not filling. With a lot of people turning towards a vegan diet why not offer something more? I could literally crawl to this restaurant which is why it's pretty disappointing. I'd be here all the time and would be bringing friends if they provided a more thoughtful menu. Feels like restaurants these days are just in business to make money and Jam isn't an exception.

A kinda hipster place but it was one of the only brunch places open in the area at like 8 in the morning. Guess most places don't open till 10. I think when we got there, there was only one other table occupied inside. By the time we left, if was starting to get busy. I wasn't super hungry so I just got the small order of the malted custard French toast. The small order is just one thick piece of toast, cut in a triangle. It didn't come with syrup and you have to ask for it. They serve it to you in a little metal container. Same with ketchup - we had to ask for it and again not given just the ketchup bottle. Anyways the French toast was delicious! It was soft and gooey in the middle. Others at the table got the omelette, egg sandwich, and the beef & polenta. I tried a bite of the omelette and it had chorizo, onions and peppers. It was ok. It's also served with corn bread. My friend liked the beef and polenta and the other one though the egg sandwich was a little too salty. Oh and the fresh orange juice was tasty too. I would come back for the French toast but the other ones seem hit or miss.

Consistently great. My favorited is the braised beef with polenta, my husband gets the chicken and waffle (it's hot chicken). This is a favorite place to bring friends because you can actually have a conversation because it is not too loud. They also open at 7am, which is perfect for those of us whose babies don't understand sleeping in!

I appreciated the good food and service. The selections are interesting and imaginative so I hope to return and try some more of them. Even the basic regular coffee was tasty.

This is my new go-to place. Hands down. It's outstanding. If you're uptight, be warned, though. I was waiting at the host stand for several minutes and just decided to tap a server and ask where the host was. She said there wasn't a host (though there was a stand in front for one) and promptly took me to a seat in the lovely space in back, which is where this place really shines under a 3-story tall ceiling with skylights. I ordered a coffee while waiting for my friend to arrive. 10 minutes later - no coffee, but my server was busy serving food. She eventually came to my table with the coffee and explained that they'd run out of cups, and there was no charge for the coffee (small acknowledgements like this make All the difference). My friend arrived and we ordered. I could go on about how great the food was, but when the chef studied under Trotter it's all just amazing. Look around at what other people ordered. Ask your server what's great. Go with your gut. You won't go wrong at this place. It's a real hidden treasure of sorts out there on Kedzie in No Man's Land.

Got to try this place out with my cousin. We had the spicy chicken & waffles and the pork belly eggs Benedict. I really wanted to love this but everything tasted pretty mediocre, especially for the price. Service was quick and our server was very sweet. Our dishes were presented nicely, and coffee was just ok. Chicken & waffles had a slight kick to it. What I loved most was that the chicken had some crispiness and was deboned, though I hoped it would be crispier. The waffles were pitifully soggy, I think due to the juices from the chicken, and sat atop a small bed of greens. Pork belly eggs Benedict with beets was a bit sad as well. While the pork belly itself was good, the eggs sat on some stale toasted bread. The beets were too light of a flavor that the pork overshadowed everything. It was quite plain for my taste.

Fantastic menu and great service

It was good restaurant. The carrot cake pancakes felt more like desert than a meal and the corned beef sandwich is not your traditional, more like a pot roast. The eggs Benedict looked amazing and the burger looked great.
