Came here for a friends 24th birthday a few weeks ago, and
this place honestly ruined it!! We were originally excited because a few friends live in the area and said that this place looked super cute… Went up to the bar and the bartender just completely ignored me, serving 3 other people. I waited for 5ish minutes until an older man came up next to me and she started serving him. I walked away and my friends tried to order drinks. The bartender proceeded to check their IDs and then scream at the top of her lungs “EVERYONES IDS OUT NOW”. This was totally targeted at us since we were the only people under 50 at this place. She went around on a power trip to each of us and I kid you not, looked at each of our IDs for several minutes as if they were fake. After she THOROUGHLY checked all of our IDs, she simply walked away. No apology, no nothing. I mean she really thought she ate!!! We ended up just leaving because she obviously did not want to serve us. This bartender was one of the rudest people I have ever met in my life, and I hope she gets the help that she needs because treating patrons like this is unacceptable!! She could have handled this in a professional manner, but she did the opposite. Telling everyone to steer clear of this place, unless you want to be belittled by a 60 year old woman.
Kid-friendliness: Definitely not kid friendly. DONT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE!!

Friday the 13th 2024 I went out to celebrate my coworkers birthday. Unfortunately, being a straight guy in a gay bar I got bad service. Live band was playing and the place was nice until I tried ordering a beer from the bartender he ignored me and served a person who just walked up. I say damn could have sworn I was here first. He served the guy then says to me thanks for waiting. Im like Whatever to myself. Go to the bar again he act like he dont see me again so I just left, my friends like why you leaving I explained to them why.
Not spending my money where not wanted

Nice enough joint but it’s cash only. I found out after ordering a drink, and ended up paying 5.50 in fees to get $20 from the ATM so I could pay. C’mon guys it’s the 21st Century, get one of the many cheap credit card processing services available today as a convenience to customers. For god’s sake I can take credit card payments on my phone and I’m just a dude.

We live in the neighborhood and love Jarvis Square and especially this place. A lovely atmosphere and a real favorite among locals as a hang out and for special events including football (soccer) matches like the Euro Cup. And they pour a great Guinness on tap!

I used to basically be here every week prior to COVID and I missed it dearly. It's fantastic now! I live around the corner and will be back absolutely regularly from this point on. Bartender is wicked cool and a great performer. Other acts effing killed. I'm so happy it's become such a wonderful haunt.

So glad we stopped in. my partner and I stopped in for one last drink on our way home from Craft Beer Week. The bartender was really friendly and knowledgeable about the numerous options. they have 16 taps AND predominantly local. quite a few options in can or draft that are minority brewed. the place was really comfortable and the regulars were inviting. they don't serve food but you can order from many places around there and they have silverware and condiments. But did i mention the beer selection?? it rounded out CBW perfectly.
