A true hidden gem for comforting, home-style Korean food, tucked inside Joong Boo Market and reminiscent of a classic Korean food stall. It’s no-frills, just hearty dishes with great quality at an excellent value. We especially loved the codfish soup and tteokbokki. It’s always a treat to grab some groceries and enjoy a quick bite at the snack corner.
The food is tasty and very filling! The area to eat is very small and crowded, though. Tables are good for 4 people or less. The wait time was not bad. We waited for our food for about 20 minutes. A good place to eat nearby would be the NEIU El Centro campus. You do not need to be a student to enter and use their facilities! Also, please be kind to the workers they are literally old grandmas working hard ❤️
As a native Korean, I won't call it authentic but still good and the vibe reminds me of my youth.
It's not bad if you think of half the price of the food as the emotional price of the plate. However, it was not a traditional Korean taste because it was based on soybean paste.
