Jerk Villa Bar & Grill Reviews
I’ve never been more disgusted with a Black-owned business than I was with Jerk Villa. When I walked in, the security officer frisked me — and I had no issue with that at first. But not even 30 seconds later, a group of seven white men walked in, and not a single one of them was frisked.
When I called it out, the security officer said he was instructed to do so.

Thank you to one of the managers Donnell for assisting my friends and I. This was our first time visiting this location and he realized we were sitting and waiting for a long time. And not getting the proper service. He made sure our food was fresh and correct. I highly recommend him as a manager and restaurant hospitality. So polite and professional.

Jerk Villa Bar & Grill has been a part of the Chicago dining scene for some time, offering a unique experience for its guests. While there is still room for improvement in service, it has been noted for its friendly staff, including the attentive manager, Deborah, who makes an effort to ensure customers have a great experience. Visitors have reported longer wait times for drinks and food, but many appreciate the welcoming atmosphere created by staff members like Calvin, the security guard, and Mama Dee, the owner's mother.
The food continues to receive mixed reviews. The jerk rib tips have been highlighted as a standout dish, with some diners declaring them the best they've ever had. The jerk wings have also received praise for their juicy and flavorful seasoning. However, there are some complaints regarding the mac and cheese, which some guests found to be mediocre and not baked. The yams remain a favorite for their rich flavor, while the jerk chicken and oxtails have also earned positive remarks for their delicious taste.
Despite some service issues, the lively environment, with music and TV screens showcasing sports, contributes to a memorable dining experience. Visitors have noted that the restaurant is cash only, and while the music can be loud, it enhances the vibrant vibe, making Jerk Villa a place worth returning to in Chicago.
