My family was in from Ohio. They do a Chicago trip every 2 years. I brought them to Jibaritos y Mas 2 years ago. TO THIS DAY THEY TALK ABOUT THAT DAY. My cousins left that day crying because it reminded them of days of eating my grandmother's food. So of course this year I has to bring them. They were not going to leave without going to Jibaritos y Mas. My aunt had the Sopa Salsichon. My other aunt had the carne guisada. My 2 cousins and I had a jibatitos (Cubana, sister, and puerco). We all also shared some apps. It was all reasonably priced. Each bite brought back a memory for them and they loved it all. It was the best part of their trip to Chicago they said. A must go to.

Alcapurrias are a MUST!! The pastel was a little dry and lacked flavor in comparison to the Alcapurrias. The arroz and habichuelas sides were 🔥 I ordered a pincho and thought it would be grilled but it was actually fried and was dry. Mofongo and carne frita were also good.

The reason for this one star review is far away from what we were there for. Upon arriving as a group of 5 everything seemed fine when me ,my wife and younger son walked in , However as soon as my older son walked in with his girlfriend the atmosphere changed almost immediately because she's Puerto Rican. In 2025 people are still living in the past my wife literally had to ask the lady why she was staring at her in disgust. So my son girlfriend places her order in Spanish fluently which turn the chattering in Spanish down to almost 0 because now they know she speaks Spanish smh. I was so disappointed I will NEVER spend another dollar at this restaurant but that was part is that I tell people about this place all the time. Both ladies that worked there obviously had an issue the guys were ok minor stares here and there but nothing like the females. This was the take out section I'm not sure about the dine in section. I would tell a different tale about Jabarito y mas from this point on! Hope every if your black with a Hispanic girlfriend/wife or vice versa dnt waste your money at this place💯
Disappointed with the professionalism of this place. We ordered on DoorDash. Restaurant missed 4 items. We contacted the restaurant first, they claimed “on camera” that the driver picked up two bags of food. We contacted the driver and he only picked up one bag and even went out of his way to go back to the restaurant to resolve the issue. When we contacted the restaurant again to understand where the missing food was, they claimed they only gave the driver one bag. So not only did they blame the driver for the missing food but they also completely lied to us and overall failed to prepare the order. Super unprofessional and I hope the driver doesn’t face any issues with his JOB because of the dumb and rude people working here !!
not to mention they gave us a quarter full bowl of mojo for my mofongo like who the hell is gonna eat it like that !!!!
