I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and for her first omakase experience. It was amazing! The quality of the sushi, the experience of the chefs, the explanation of every bite, and just the overall service by all staff in the entire restaurant/kitchen was outstanding. I will most certainly be back here soon!

Joto is a hidden gem in West Loop! Many aren't aware of this place, but should be (albeit we don't want it to become too busy as we love it for ourselves). We are a couple that lives 5 blocks away, this is our "spot" over the others. They have "dry aged" fish vs other sushi restaurants, which is a unique way to keep, prepare and serve (Tuna, Salmon, Hamachi, Snapper etc) just as fresh or fresher tasting than the alternative. There is a front bar area (lively) and back room (main restaurant tables) and Omakase (Great pricing compared to other Omakase in Chicago). Highly recommend, Antonio the owner is great guy and was helpful explaining their processes. Give it a shot for a 2-4 person meal!

Such a great local find and I was lucky to be there during Restaurant Week which was an added bonus.

Always a great time whenever I can make it to Joto. Amazing cocktails & amazing rolls. I'm always looking for a reason to come here and bring someone new who has yet to experience it. My favorite course this time around was the scallop course and the pumpkin pie with black truffle dessert.

Incredible food !!!! The chefs are stars. However, the service has been very inconsistent. Getting new drinks is typically a hassle and that makes putting new food orders in hard/ ill-timed as well. (This is especially disappointing when the drinks in question are canned diet cokes that I pour myself) I surely would have ordered more food if there was some consistency with being checked on. The food is so amazing that the lack of consistent service just feels so obvious when compared to places with similarly amazing food. Note: Last night's server was very nice and nicely comped us a soda and dessert for the issues but these are issues I have noticed over multiple visits.

Brought my fiance to this restaurant for his birthday and we had a great experience! Our waiter was very tentative, the food was excellent, overall experience and atmosphere was fun!

Everything was excellent!! We had the crab bites, himachi small plate, tried all 5 preparations of the dry aged tuna, and two rolls. Absolutely everything was outstanding!! That was my first experience with dry-aged sushi and my mind was completely blown by the taste and texture. Our cocktails and desserts were all outstanding as well. Absolutely loved the pistachio Malort Last Word riff!! Shout out to JZ--she was amazing!! She made great recommendations, coursed everything perfectly, and I loved the cocktail she suggested to cap off the night. Also appreciated her shared love of Malort, we had a great discussion about the flight. Thank you all so much. We had such a great night with you.

Had a great time here and would love to come back. Omakase menu was done well and priced reasonably. Spent around 200 for around 18pc and they also gave some service.

This was my second visit to JoTo and it did not disappoint. The service is effortlessly excellent. I had messed up the reservation (user error) but they were still willing and able to accommodate what I really wanted to book - the Omakase experience. The food was great and innovative. The fish was as exactly as fresh as it should be. And surprisingly for me I also liked the cocktail I had - Shark something.... Highly recommend the place.

Had an amazing omakase experience at Joto Sushi. The food were well thought of, fresh and tasted really good. It was nice that we weren't rushed and the omakase chef took his time. The servers and other staff members were great too. They let us sit down by the bar while waiting for our experience to start

The food was generally tasty, but the rolls kept falling apart, which is unacceptable for sushi at this price point. The flavor itself was rather average, so the overall impression of the rolls was mixed. The service was okay, but it felt rushed and plates were taken away almost immediately, sometimes right from under our hands, which gave the impression that we were being hurried to leave.

Excellent selection and the dry aged nigiri was so flavorful. Also, crispy tuna bites were amazing.
