I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and for her first omakase experience. It was amazing! The quality of the sushi, the experience of the chefs, the explanation of every bite, and just the overall service by all staff in the entire restaurant/kitchen was outstanding. I will most certainly be back here soon!
Joto is a hidden gem in West Loop! Many aren't aware of this place, but should be (albeit we don't want it to become too busy as we love it for ourselves). We are a couple that lives 5 blocks away, this is our "spot" over the others. They have "dry aged" fish vs other sushi restaurants, which is a unique way to keep, prepare and serve (Tuna, Salmon, Hamachi, Snapper etc) just as fresh or fresher tasting than the alternative. There is a front bar area...
Always a great time whenever I can make it to Joto. Amazing cocktails & amazing rolls. I'm always looking for a reason to come here and bring someone new who has yet to experience it. My favorite course this time around was the scallop course and the pumpkin pie with black truffle dessert.
