Stopped in after some gambling to grab a quick bite. Atmosphere, perfect, service was good. Wasn't impressed with the food, but more than likely it was my choice. I ordered the oysters "from Canada" never had those before. They were good but for the size of them I was very disappointed. I also ordered fish and chips, thought why not, maybe it would be something great. It wasn't. they reminded me of the Gordon's food service fish sticks, and fries were not all the way cooked. Beer was slow, but I did get served. Probably wouldn't go back, but if I did i would order something different for sure.

Food was fairly decent but slightly overpriced & very disappointed with the crab bisque which was only flavored broth and the beef Wellington under cooked , taken back and pastry too overcooked. Creamed spinach over creamy and no flavor. The stone crabs as appetizers were fairly decent but would not do again. Crab cakes entree and complimentary birthday brownie were very good. Price tag for lunch $215 not including tip. They did offer a prix fix lunch menus for $42 but limited choices for dessert, yet maybe a better choice for your purse.
Parking: Do the valet parking for $21, we spent $55 for garage parking-totally a waste of money……someone should have sung to us at least for that price!!

Horrible! We had a reservation at 8:00 pm and the table wasn’t ready until 8:45.

We had a great memory at Joe’s from Florida, so visited chicago location. The food was okay, but not special like the ones at Florida. We also ordered steaks, which was a bit tough. Crab was good though.

My husband, two boys and I went to Joe's about a week ago for lunch. We decided to try it out as a special treat to celebrate our son's 13th birthday. We didn't have a terrible experience but it wasn't what we hoped for either. While the staff is quite polite and would never be directly rude, we didn't feel the most welcome. We don't exude the wealth that clearly some of the other diners around us did. The host was polite but not kind. In his tiny defense I did studder when asked if we were celebrating anything special. So I don't think he believed we were celebrating our son's 13th birthday. Oh well whatever. After being seated our server was quite polite but after ordering wasn't quite as attentive as she could have been. Just clearly different. We didn't order any stone crab or the most expensive things on the menu. We can't, those things are just too expensive for us. We had a steak sandwich, roasted chicken and our two boys ordered burgers (very ordinary, not worth $25. We've had amazing burgers in other high end restaurants). Unfortunately I have to say that the food was good but not $170 (plus tip) good 😬. We did expect a little more paying that kind of money. Anyway, I'm sure the steaks and crab are great. But if you aren't racking up a nice big bill, to leave a big fat tip, you are not going to be treated quite as nicely. At one point my husband had a very awkward moment. After eating I took our 6 year old to the bathroom. It was taking him quite some time 🙄 and my husband just couldn't wait he also needed to use the bathroom so he left the table. Our older son was the only one at the table. When my husband got back to the table the staff had freaked out a little, likely thinking we were dining and ditching 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️... Leaving our kid as the last to leave with all of our jackets? 😬😆
Anyway my husband felt so uncomfortable. We just wanted to leave after that.

Service was outstanding, the inviroment was great. Very fancy and cozy. Very impressive.
I gave them a 4 because the food was not what I expected of a 5 star restaurant.
Kid-friendliness: I wouldn't take young children.

I didn't have a very good experience at this restaurant that was on my list. First I asked for a table, they said there weren't any available because I hadn't made a reservation in advance, they put me at a table at the bar and that was fine, but other people arrived who I'm absolutely sure didn't have a reservation and they got a table for them. Also, the lobster roll isn't actually lobster but crab, which left something to be desired because the seasoning, like "rosemary", was too much. It's not worth it. There are better restaurants.

very disappointed with the restaurant, no the food here is very tasty. but I came to this restaurant only because of the CRAB, I wanted to eat CRAB so much. but the crab that I saw in the photo of this restaurant turned out to be raw, I wanted a ready-made crab and I was advised another one that was cooked, I don’t know how it happened that the waiter didn’t take my order for CRAB but only wrote down my other order, I ate the first dish and waited a long time for the crab but they never brought it to me, when I asked when my crab would be ready they told me that I didn’t order it and took a new order, but when they brought the crab I couldn’t feel its great taste because they brought me my crab when I was already full

It was my first time dining at this venue, and it will undoubtedly be my last. My wife and I visited to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Upon arrival, the gentleman at the door assured us that the waitress was aware of our special occasion and would take good care of our table. However, the experience was deeply disappointing.
The dishes were not only extremely outdated but also bland and presented poorly—almost resembling dog food.
To make matters worse, the desserts were clearly frozen, and no one even bothered to wish us a simple "happy anniversary." I wasn’t expecting anything extravagant, but a smile and a glass of water would have been nice.
Thanks for nothing!!!

We were sitting in the entrance hall where the bar was located, so it was pretty busy as all guests who were waited for a table were standing around us. It was in the beginning funny however later on it disturbed as a lot.
On the service I was not so really satisfied. As she first forgot us to give the beberages menu as well on later on after my steak come to give me a steak knife. In this kind of a restaurant is this not acceptable.
The food was ok, but not incredible great or worth for the price which was given. So the price performance is for sure not fair. Even I ordered medium well and in my opinion it was more well as medium-well.
By the way you can cancel the restaurant fee of 3,5%, just you need to tell them that you want it cancelled. It’s written also on the menu.
Overall it was a one time exprience for me, I would never visit second time Joe’s, but to visit for one time or to write this comment it was worth.

I have been here a few times, but tonight, I had the best service ever. And I'm not talking about the server, although she was fine. What really made this evening memorable and so pleased was the busboy Mesias. He was extremely attentive and always ready to ask if we needed anything. He made sure we always had what we needed. Thank you!

Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab in Chicago offers a solid dining experience with a reputation for quality that mostly holds up. The ambiance is classic and upscale, making it a great spot for a special night out or business dinner.
The sea bass was well-prepared, a highlight for seafood lovers, and the steaks are tender and cooked to your preference, though not necessarily the best in the city IMO. The sides and drinks are enjoyable, with options like the cream spinach and the Expresso Martini standing out.
Service was stellar and attentive. While the meal is “a’right” overall, the price point is on the higher side for what I had hoped would be a more flavorful steak. If you’re a fan of seafood classics and prime steak, Joe’s is worth a visit but I won’t say it was worth the seating wait. We’ll def go back and give it another try.
