Born and raised on the south side, I’ve had a lot of Italian beefs and sadly this was very disappointing, especially for a place with great reviews. The beef lacked flavor and was more like a skinny beef. Don’t have to ever have it again. The arancini was amazing and fried to perfection. If only I could say the same for the beefs.

Went to Johnny’s and had an Italian beef with sweet peppers. Delicious. Classic. Can recommend! Fries were excellent too. Place was clean, service was quick, employees were personable. Will go back.

I got lucky the first time I went it was a very short line! The Italian beef was good but I got hot & sweet peppers & the heat was a little too much for me lol other than that it was good, greasy & flavorful. Oh & that Italian Ice is nothing to play with its soooo good! Finished that first

If you want the genuine family-run Chicago classic food establishment, this is it. 5 minutes into my order, I met Johnny and he made me feel like family. The food of course was fabulous. My daughter's Gyros was two full meals in and of itself. My Italian beef combo was precisely, exactly what a Chicago Italian beef should be. The milkshake was amazing. Go for the food, enjoy the family environment. If you're in the area, don't miss it.
