Door 🚪 man is an obnoxious fool, they tow cars outside, leave the fancy cars if you cool with the doorman. Avoid Joy District at all costs, this venue brings no Joy.

Rude staff, expensive for a cover charge, uncomfortable atmosphere, security was poor.
Didn’t ID anyone, most people inside looked under 20 years old. Atmosphere was nothing like online videos and images.

Came on a holiday bar crawl. Both bartenders upstairs were too busy hanging on other patrons, taking pictures, flirting , etc to bother serving drinks.
Eventually the bar back grabbed one of the servers who begrudgingly took our drink order… maybe that’s the “exclusive” vibe they’re going for 🤷
Kid-friendliness: Not at all

This place is god-awful. The crowd is cheap and the club lets literally anyone inside. The staff is extremely disrespectful and did not help us when someone pickpocketed us for our wallets and phones. Horrible experience, I would give it 0 stars if I could

Someone pickpocketed my phone at Joy District this past Friday.
We stepped outside so that my friend could get better service and track my phone. It was very obvious that my hand was stamped and that we were just meaning to step outside briefly. I was also very upset and said what my situation was to the bouncers. The bouncers at the front door were beyond rude to me when I tried going back in to look for my phone. Never going back and will never recommend this place going forward.

DO NOT GO HERE, you will not be protected or cared for if something goes wrong. Saturday night Oct. 26 I attended a bar crawl (a scam that closed half of this bar unless you pay a $20 cover even though people paid a ticket for the full building). Met first with a bunch of useless men as security guards acting like tough guys and throwing my property into a bin (water bottle that wasnt permitted which is fair), but a grown man doesn’t have a right to throw my property because he’s in security. Next, 20 minutes in I find someone going through my purse. I was livid when I confronted them which got me kicked out but they let the robber and her friend leave without IDing them at my request to contact the police. I felt completely unsafe and that no one cared that I’ve almost been robbed. Fire the security guard that was patting down people on Oct. 26, he is unprofessional and a complete waste of space. Security is suppose to make you feel safe, not annoying. Never come here, there’s a lot of better places to go.

Today, I attempted to visit Joy District and had a very disappointing and discriminatory experience. I’d like to point out that I purchased the bar crawl tickets to ensure there wouldn’t be any issues. Upon arriving, I asked the bouncer at the door if the elevator was working, as it was out of service the last time I visited about a year ago. He directed me to speak with another bouncer named Robert (though I’m unsure if this is his real name). I asked Robert if I could access the second floor using the elevator, and he told me it was not possible because the elevator was out of service. When I asked why, he said, “we don’t want to turn it on for just anyone to use.” While I understand there may be restrictions, as a wheelchair user, denying access like this is against city ordinances. To make matters worse he then told me to go to the back of the line, which was not only impossible for me to reach but also completely inaccessible. I’ve never encountered anyone less accommodating. Feeling discriminated against, I called 311 and filed a report.I believe this was a clear case of discrimination, and it’s unacceptable that a club in this day and age would treat people this way, especially by disregarding accessibility laws.
