Had been so many thai places. Never eat undercooked noodle and cabbage in pad thai.

The food is delicious and great price. It's BYOB without a corking fee, so bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with your delicious meal.
I've had many of the dishes off the menu, and these are my favorites so far: chicken satay, thai rolls, larb, pad thai, pad see eiw, pad woon sen, phuket noodles.

Solid place for a quick meal. Food is tasty, well prepared and you can taste fresh ingredients. Probably not the spot for special occasions but for a casual dinner with friends it’s a solid spot.

Loved it! Food is great portion for the price, and the people in there are super friendly!
Vegetarian options: You can order lots of stuff plain, and add on tofu, or any meat choice.
Kid-friendliness: Very calm environment, and high chairs available
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to get in, plenty of room and you can swap out a chair in place of the wheelchair

My new favorite Pad Thai.

A bit pricey but that's reflected on the portion size. The taste is acceptable but not even close to being great. I had a Pad Kee Mao. The noodles were not wide and flat and the sauce was not spicy.

Joy's isn't what I remember it to be, or maybe the issue is that it hasn't changed in all these years.
The food is just alright and prices okay for what you get but with so many other options in the area, that's just not enough anymore.
Also, the service could have been better. The staff forgot to give us plates and utensils, which happens, but getting their attention was very difficult and the restaurant wasn't even that crowded when we were there.
I think this is one of those places where if you've been going for years and live in the area you go just because of the nostalgia but for someone like myself that hasn't been back in probably a decade it just doesn't hold up.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are very clearly labeled and, like most Thai places, there's enough to choose from.

I have tried most of the Thai places in and around Lakeview. Really wanted to like this one because it is close. On the plus side, the portions are huge and prices decent. The staff was really friendly. I am puzzled at reviews who complain about price/portion here. However, I agree with those who found it bland. The noodles could have used more seasoning and more stir frying. Chicken in pad thai did not have much flavor. All in all, not a deal breaker if I were in the mood for Thai and didn't feel like venturing out. However, what killed it for me was the atmosphere. It does not feel like a sit-down restaurant. The front is dominated by a long table with take out orders, and worst offender is the music. I don't understand restaurants that skimp on the 10-20 bucks a month for a spotify subscription. The radio station they were blaring was non-stop yaping and ads sprinkled with some over played pop songs here and there. The songs were so bad (imagine pop hits from the 90's that have been drilled into your head)... that I almost longed for the DJs to start blabbing again. Totally distracted from our dinner. A friendly tip to the managers.

Terrible. Just ordered a take-out, paid 130 dollars for Panang curries and ginger chicken - all the food is not edible. Avoid this place.

Pretty diverse menu and food is overall delicious. Crab rangoons, chicken satay, and spring rolls were tasty and can't go wrong with the drunken noodles or pad see ew. Would recommend.
Helpful servers, delicious food, generous portions.
We will definitely be back.

I recommended the pad thai or pad kee mao and ask for the chili sauce bottle. The chili sauce is amazing to add. The portions at the restaurant are huge. The service is always friendly as well. I love when the patio is open.
