Hit up Joy’s Noodles & Rice in Lakeview last night—BYOB vibes and zero cork‑fee, so I popped in a bottle of Malbec. Grabbed a Panang Noodles, Crab Rangoon and Thai Rolls, plus a Thai iced tea w/ boba—ran me roughly $30. Food crushed it, noodles had that perfect chew, apps were crisp. Chill patio, friendly crew—solid local spot.

Joys has been a favorite for over 25 years. Was visiting Chicago after moving to Columbus over 10 years ago. Food is amazing and service top notch! I cannot say enough about this place!

Joy's Noodles & Rice was such a blast, but wow, I was stunned by how nice the interior was! Unfortunately, the photos I took don’t capture that.
The interior is masterfully designed and so spacious.
Their coconut chicken curry and green curry were both amazing!
Not all places do this, but Joy's Noodles did, and I’m so glad—they offer a combo appetizer option, so we were able to get wontons, crab rangoon, and tofu all together in a big batch.

Do not order from here! Food never came. After it was an hour late, I called and they assured me that driver was running late. Called again and they told me he was on his way and would call me when he got here: An hour and 45 minutes after ordering, this restaurant stopped answering my calls.

Had been so many thai places. Never eat undercooked noodle and cabbage in pad thai.

The food is delicious and great price. It's BYOB without a corking fee, so bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with your delicious meal.
I've had many of the dishes off the menu, and these are my favorites so far: chicken satay, thai rolls, larb, pad thai, pad see eiw, pad woon sen, phuket noodles.

Solid place for a quick meal. Food is tasty, well prepared and you can taste fresh ingredients. Probably not the spot for special occasions but for a casual dinner with friends it’s a solid spot.

Loved it! Food is great portion for the price, and the people in there are super friendly!
Vegetarian options: You can order lots of stuff plain, and add on tofu, or any meat choice.
Kid-friendliness: Very calm environment, and high chairs available
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to get in, plenty of room and you can swap out a chair in place of the wheelchair

My new favorite Pad Thai.

A bit pricey but that's reflected on the portion size. The taste is acceptable but not even close to being great. I had a Pad Kee Mao. The noodles were not wide and flat and the sauce was not spicy.

Joy's isn't what I remember it to be, or maybe the issue is that it hasn't changed in all these years.
The food is just alright and prices okay for what you get but with so many other options in the area, that's just not enough anymore.
Also, the service could have been better. The staff forgot to give us plates and utensils, which happens, but getting their attention was very difficult and the restaurant wasn't even that crowded when we were there.
I think this is one of those places where if you've been going for years and live in the area you go just because of the nostalgia but for someone like myself that hasn't been back in probably a decade it just doesn't hold up.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are very clearly labeled and, like most Thai places, there's enough to choose from.
