I think this restaurant is awful. They take forever to deliver orders and the staff is terrible. I won't be buying from this restaurant again. I don't recommend it. Bad service.

I might have went on an off day but I did not enjoy the food. I got the viral jerk egg rolls and jerk fried rice. I was not a fan, the flavor wasn't there. I also got the baked Mac and cheese and it was not baked and very salty. It was packed the day I went so I had high expectations. But like I said It may have just been an off day when I went. I will try again they had some stuff on the menu I wanted to try, like the jerk chicken and grits and a few other things. What i did like is they're definitely not stingy with the portion size! The prices are also reasonable.

Yall had me fooled. Had me thinking Juanita kitchen was black owned..it’s not…but the food was just OK. Greens tasted weird, Mac was ok but had a powder cheese flavor, fish was good but was cook for someone without teeth, it was so soft. I didn’t receive any eating utensils or napkins and she only gave me (1)half oz cup of hot sauce. I’ll go back but I’ll stick to the Mexican part of the menu.
Went there because of a lady in Facebook said it was the bomb.com I only tried the jerk chicken fried rice with the two giant egg rolls. GIANT!!! Egg rolls. Almost the size of a phone!! The rice was 8.5. The portions were for 2-3 people. All for $21.something!!! Will definitely go back. Go before 3. After 3, a line forms.

I like to give businesses a chance, my first visit was smothered pork chops which was a tough leftover pork chop, the thing is, how many days was it leftover. I decided to try again, they said the wait would be a hour in about half. I ordered chicken and dressing. If you run out of food you just run out, but to whip up dressing and serve it have cooked is horrible, dressing should never be loose. I shouldnt have to come home and cook it myself. If I wanted to do that I would have cooked my own dinner. Stop serving food like people don’t know the difference.

Let me preface this by saying, THIS IS THE BEST SOUL FOOD IN CHICAGO!!! This is a five star restaurant. I spent about $19 for 5 jerk wings, fried rice, mac & cheese, yams and a large drink. One of the best values I have seen in a long time. The food was to excellent, I cannot stress this enough, Juanita's Kitchen is top notch. I could run out character explaining how good this food is.
However i cannot ignore the insanely long waits. From the time I got in the restaurant to when I was walking out with my food it was 1 hour and 15 minutes and that was faster than the first time I went. There is no where to sit and place gets packed with people just waiting. I cannot image their is not a more efficient way of running that restaurant, even people who ordered online and came an hour later are stuck waiting, the same thing with Uber Eats and GrubHub drivers. Please fix this, because this take away from an incredible food experience.
