This place seems never to be busy -- it should be. Some of the best sushi in Chicago, some of the most interesting flavour combinations, and some of the best service in the city.

I came here to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. I had a reservation noted for a birthday and was called multiple times to confirm it, so I expected at least some small acknowledgment. When we arrived, we were even asked if we were celebrating, and I said yes—but nothing came of it.

The dinner itself was just okay. For a place that presents itself as high-end and charges prices comparable to 1-star Michelin restaurants, the details were disappointing—wooden chopsticks, fake wasabi, and service that didn’t match the price point or the image they project.

It made me sad to spend my birthday here and walk away feeling like it was just another forgettable dinner. I expected something more thoughtful and refined.

Went to Juno in Lincoln Park expecting a top-tier sushi experience, but left feeling underwhelmed. Dropped about $140 on the omakase, which included around 20 bite-sized pieces . While the presentation was impressive, the portions were tiny, and I left still hungry. The smoked sashimi came under a glass dome filled with applewood smoke, which was a cool touch, but the flavor didn't live up to the hype . Service was attentive, but for the price, I expected more substance.

I challenge - CHALLENGE - anyone to find better bites than the smoked hamachi, king and queen roll or the tako maguro. Not possible. Everything else is outstanding too. Chef BK has a gem in LP. He’s the Sinead O’Connor of the Chicago good scene. Nothing compares to him… Much love. - DG

Their signature dishes, like the smoked hamachi and truffle chawanmushi, offer a unique twist on traditional sushi. Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or just exploring Japanese cuisine, Juno impresses with its creativity and precision. It’s a must-visit spot for anyone craving high-quality sushi in the city. Highly recommended!

Absolutely some of the best Nigiri sushi I’ve ever had in my life. Every bit of fish was completely fresh. There were some traditional preparations, but also some interesting playful stuff with flavors like mustard int and chives.

Avoid this affordable omakese. The price might look nice but the service is terrible and not worth the price tag.

I ordered the miso soup, chef's choice nigiri, and matcha mochi ice cream and everything was perfect! Everything tasted fresh, clean, and high quality! The neighborhood is also super charming! Definitely recommend. Shout out to our bartender, Pia, who was so friendly and helpful!!

Omakase is always the best choice here!

The maki rolls were delicious and the sashimi tasted very fresh. Also was impressed by the sauce on the edamame. Definitely was a little on pricier side, but for good sashimi it was worth it. I’d come back for more of the rolls for sure. Our server was very kind and patient as well. Staff was friendly.

Used to come here all the time. Idk what happened, the quality of fish was good, but it tasted like they didn't dress or treat the nigiri pieces up to their past standards. Given how expensive it gets, the value just wasn't there compared to momotoro, sushi dokku etc

We'd not been to Juno for a while, and today it's not quite the same Juno it was. The food was okay, above average sushi. But, it's the service and ambiance that changed. The noise level in the half empty space was too loud to converse across the table, staff scurrying everywhere rather chaotically. We ordered the Chef's sashimi and got the nigiri (16 pieces versus 9 pieces). It was too late to reorder, and we'd been waiting a bit already. When the waiter brought the check, he said the manager had comped us a couple pieces of our order for the error, which was not true. The front bar area is quieter and less hectic, might be a better place to sit for your visit.

Truly some of the best sushi in Chicago. I am gluten free and they take my allergies super seriously. Don't forget dessert! I had the mochi brownie and it was like ending the meal with a warm, comforting hug. Perfect spot for date night, impressing an out-of-town guest, or catching up with friends!
