Yall food isn’t the same!!! I always order the same thing and come to that restaurant at least once a week. My order is always jerk chicken, all dark candy yams, and cabbage with no gravy on the rice. The past 2 to 3 times that I’ve been there the candy yams have not been right either overly sweet or too much cinnamon and very mushy. The cabbage way too soft is not even steamed if it is it’s like it’s boiled and left on the pot too long and now it’s overcooked and mushy. The rice is completely overcooked as well and very mushy. Whomever the cook is and/or controlling the kitchen is doing a horrible job. I used to give you all praise, but it’s now starting to seem like I need to find a new jerk chicken spot.

We all know the jerk cups are tiny. I put it next to the chicken to give context to the size of the chicken. The cup looks large but it really isn’t.

It was dry the most disgusting crap I’ve ever encountered. He tried to hide to dry chicken with some sweet sauce over it . It was horrible . The Mac and cheese was hard as ever . It looked old and frozen . I got all the way home and I was furious . Dry chicken horrible sides . The cashier girl told me she doesn’t eat Mac n cheese so she doesn’t know how it should look.

ordered the Jerk Chicken Salad. The portion size was generous, and the mix of ingredients such as red peppers, cheese, and carrots was fresh and tasty. Unfortunately, I was not able to enjoy it because the chicken was way too spicy to tolerate. The heat overpowered the rest of the salad and took away from the experience. It may be better if the spice level was toned down so that more people, especially those sensitive to spice or with health concerns like high blood pressure, could enjoy it fully.

Im a vegetarian. I was happy to see the veggie plate was only $13. I was a little disappointed with the quantity of sides because most veggie places offer 4 sides. But this one gave me a lot of rice and i only 2 sides i didn't like the peas and rice that much because they put a type of barbecue sauce on it. The mixed veggies were from a can with no seasoning and tasted like water. The mac and cheese was very salty. ( after I tried the jerk sauce with the food it went up about 30, 40 percent. Im very disappointed with the can veggies

I’m bias because this is my neighborhood jerk but to be fair all my jerk dinners have been on point. Rice and peas are a solid base and the spice of the sauce is the best compliment. Even the mac is even decent. Don’t have to trust me - Not like I’ve ever gone anywhere.

Stopped by Just Jerk Cafe on 79th and grabbed the jerk chicken dinner for $11.75, which came with mac and cheese and cabbage. The chicken had that smoky flavor I love, and the sides were solid. Only downside was the wait—took about 20 minutes, and they were out of beef patties. But the food hit the spot, and the staff was friendly. Spent around $15 total.
