The sushi rolls are good but pricey. The Chicken teriyaki was okay as well, but the pork katsu was really dry.

I ordered some rolls for a lunch out by the lake on a warm day, which I highly recommend! I was not notified when it was ready for pickup, but it was on the table when we walked in. All the sushi was packed together nicely in a single box which made it easy to share. I highly recommend spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls if you like fresh fish. Both the rolls were not too spicy for my taste but had great textures and flavors. I wasn't a huge fan of the tempura rolls because they had a weird county fair old fried taste.

The food here was surprisingly good. It looked like a well designed sushi shop, but you never know. Took my parents here, it was busy and we got served pretty fast. Service could have been better, but I get it. I'd go back in a heart beat.

Not the best experience. The food was good, but nothing memorable. There aren’t a whole lot of Japanese restaurants in the city, so I was very excited, but it was quite disappointing. The service was really slow and everyone’s dishes came out at very different times. It got to the point where we had to ask the progress of one of the dishes and our server was no where to be found. Once we got their attention they went to the pass/expo and grabbed the dish that had been sitting there for at least 15 minutes.

Rich was a wonderful server who gave great recommendations. I would give the sushi a solid 3.5/5 but only because I'm comparing it to what I've had on the West coast. The New Zealand King Salmon Sashimi, however, was a fantastic 5/5. The Cowboy Yamahai sake is also really great.

The quality of the fish is what sets them apart from everyone else.Absolute must have is the Green Turtle Roll, it is an outstanding combination of flavors. One of the women working bar and front of restaurant made us feel really uncomfortable by acting mean when she asked us if we needed anything and we told her someone already took our order. She just left making a face like why did we order with another staff member?

Great food. Absolutely wonderful service. We had a mix of food from appetizers to entrees and everything was delicious. Our server was accommodating and perfectly attentive. The truffle noodle are must. We had it as an appetizer to accompany the eggplant (absolutely delicious), edamame, and tempura green beans. For entrees, the black cod was fabulous, their sushi is always delectable, the Idon was perfect for a cold night and the tonkasu was very tasty! This is a Chicago classic and for good reason. Love this place.

the food was far inferior to what it has traditionally been at K. Sashimi was served in thick slabs - presentation was more like one would expect at a canine kennel. We ordered otoro tuna that was inedible - the cut was all wrong with tendinous strands throughout. Uni was not fresh - bad uni tastes like bad breath... The best dish was the hamachi jalapeño appetizer... really nice as was the veggie tempura. The manager was nice and comped the otoro dish.

The food was outstanding. Ambiance was wonderful, service was superb. The fish was incredibly fresh and well prepared. My suggestion - the chef could use a bit more rice in making the sushi. I lived in Tokyo, so I know how high end sushi restaurants prepare and serve.

It was our first time to Kamehachi. We went for our anniversary and loved it! The whole staff was so nice and even treated us to a glass of champagne for our anniversary! The sushi was great! The hot sake was great. Everything was great! We will be back again.

Food is decent. Portions seem rather small (5 rolls instead of 10) and the pickup time was seriously delayed. I personally feel there are other very decent and less expensive sushi options in town.
