Accidentally ordered from this location and not the Milwaukee one. Definitely disappointed. The red velvet french toast was not what I expected and no flavor to it in comparison to what they serve at the Milwaukee location. Also had the chilaquiles and literally the most disappointing dish. The flavor is alright, but the tortillas were completely soaked in a ground meat and salsa sauce. And the salsa was brown. I barely ate half of it because there was nothing to balance it out either. Just some minced red onion and a half avocado. It was meh. The chai latte was meh too.

The restaurant is playing loud, high BPM electronic music. Hard to enjoy your brunch, have a conversation, or even think clearly. Perhaps it is a tactic to get people to eat quickly and leave. Unfortunately it hurts the dining experience which is a shame because the food is usually quite good.

It's attention to small details that make a place great, and this place could use some. For example, the two tables that are permanently combined to make the table we were seated at had a height different of about 1/4 inch. Nothing can sit flat in the middle of the table. The main door has a door closer thar takes about 10 seconds to close. If you're seated by it, and it's cold - every time someone comes in or out, you're blasted with cold air for way longer than a properly- working door. Also the owner blasts some unbelievably cringe music.

Service was quick , but they weren’t busy about 9 am Saturday , and servers very attentive. Food was only so so. Lorraine omelette was dry. Avocado toast better. Servings are adequate , not huge nor skimpy. Ginger tumeric drink was very nice. Airy bright modern decor. For the price there are better options though they are open from 8am which is nice.

The food was sooo good the spicy omelette was to die for,and our server Gorge took such great care of us, he was so kind and patient. He answered all our questions because we have never been there before. Also, he gave such a great recommendations on things to do in Chicago. He was amazing and made the experience wonderful will be coming back when I visit again soon.

Could hardly get any service in a nearly empty restaurant. I had to ask someone multiple times for a takeout box. Our server had a serious annoyance with us and it showed in her atttude. They served me rotten strawberry orange juice and when told, they didn’t offer any compensation or apology. So I had to ask them to take it off my check. Food itself was decent but ruined by rude waitstaff and rotten juice.

It's a great place to eat outside and enjoy the Old Town vibes. But the food is average and the service is a bit slow.

Our server was excellent as he managed over 9 tables and answered many phone calls by himself during our visit. It was amazing to see but it seems that Kanela Breakfast Club has a pattern of being understaffed. It is unfair to the person who works their shift solo. There were also many flies!

One of my go to brunch spots chains! I like the Old Town location because it has outdoor seating and the indoor seating is super cute. They have a nice versatile menu with some Latino accents. In house chorizo. Yummy cocktails, fresh juice, and a full coffee bar. And they even have GF bread, even though it’s not listed on the menu.

The food here is great. We enjoyed the outdoor patio also. However, the service was lacking and we had to get our server on 3 different occasions. Then, the bill was nickeled and dimed to death, every coffee and tea every time, and added a discreet 3% service fee for credit cards. Unfortunately, the service and the billing will force me to re-evaluate whether this is a worthwhile experience going forward.
