I come here frequently for the tiff, service and vibe. Caesar always treats us well! Makes the place welcoming.. pancakes the best on Wells and the hash and chilaquiles are the best! Today Maria was are server and was so on point! Truly recommend this place to everyone!
Unfortunately the kitchen staff may have been having an “off” day. We had a group of 6 on a Sunday around brunch, but were seated rather quickly. Our server was super pleasant, but seemed newer to serving, which we were ok with. After taking our drink orders she disappeared for about 15mins, but apologized for delay when she came back. She continued to take orders around us, but we believe she didn’t realize she had not taken our order, so that was about another 20min wait....
Kanela Cafe never misses! The lemon blueberry pancakes were perfectly fluffy with the right hint of zest, and the beef filet hash was cooked to perfection…so flavorful and satisfying. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere is just what you want on a Sunday: cozy, bright, and relaxed. If you’re a brunch lover, this spot is a must. Pro tip: come hungry and definitely try both dishes!
