Kikuya is Hyde Park's hidden gem. Staff is so kind and reliable! To me this is one of the few spicy salmon maki places in Chicago that does NOTT just smother it with scallions. Their tempura is always great. Lastly the side salad has the most addictive salad dressing! Get it for takeout and walk to the point !

Vegetarian options: vegetarian options are clearly labeled, things like veggie maki rolls. AAC maki is always great. Tempura Sweet Potato roll is also clutch!

I've been going to snd ordering delivery from Kikuya for decades. My last delivery was shrimp tempura and butteryaki salmon. I asked then to not overcook the salmon, as they sometimes do. The shrimp was inedible. Someone cut a whole shrimp into toothpick slices and battered and fried it. The batter was so thick and greasy cause there was no shrimp to hold onto. The salmon was overcooked, dry, swimming in oil. I haven't ordered since snd I miss it. It's the only place sushi from. Now I'm afraid to order anything. So,sad.

It’s worth repeating. Best sushi in Hyde park! The evil tempura is also delicious. They are friendly and remember you if you come often enough!

Disappointed with my experience ordering Gyudon for delivery. The rice absorbed all the sauce, leaving just dry beef and no flavor. Recommend having them pack the beef and sauce separate from the rice.

Probably my favourite restuarant in Hyde Park; incredibly tasty food, very affordable and extremely warm staff. Highly recommended.
